Huge Improvement Over Original
This is such an improvement over the remote that came with the AC unit. To say the original was a flimsy piece of garbage is being too kind. I was forever wondering when it was going to quit or simply break. Because of that I would use it very sparingly. This replacement, although it’s called generic, is infinitely better. It’s made better and takes simple batteries, unlike the other that requires a huge flat power cell that you need to beat the bushes to find. Very happy I found this on Amazon.

Crazy better than the original
This remote is a million times better than the tiny original. You can be at an angle and it still works, imagine that!It's not perfect. Would like the buttons to light up in the dark, and the plastic is slippery.But those are minor complaints. If you are using the little garbage original, do yourself a favor and buy this

Does not come with battery, otherwise fine
This does NOT come with a battery. Make sure you get the right one; take it to Best Buy or Fry's and show them the back and they'll get the right battery for a couple of dollars. But the product is exactly the same as the original and once the battery was installed, never failed. Of course, it was a two pack battery so I installed the other one in my old remote, which turned out not to be broken, just needed fresh batteries. So now I have two. Eh. Can't complain.

This worked perfectly! I lost the original one (very small and accidentally slipped into the trash) went one day of having to get up and manually operate the a/c unit, and looked for a replacement remote. I'm spoiled! Product worked right out of the package, all functions work exactly as the original remote. Much easier to see the options on the remote on the new one!

Generic Fridigaire AC Remote
These things work better than the skinny ones that came with the AC units.The originals just didn't hold up.These are easier to find and - so far - more reliable.Takes some getting used to... completely different button layout. At least, they work for now.

Perfect, fast replacement
Broke my Whirlpool remote and found this here at Amazon. Traced the model number and got it and am well pleased. It works perfectly and in fact the simple design is easier to use in the dark than the original. Very good replacement remote.

Good replacement
More heavy duty than the old version. Just put in batteries and it's ready to use. No programming needed. Simple and straight forward to use. The only downfall is that there is no backlight for the buttons, so for in the middle of the night you have to memorize which button is where if you do not want to turn on a light in the room.

I think I like this remote better than the original
Man wish I had bought this last rear. Now I can cut it on or off while im in the bed. LOl. I think I like this remote better than the original. The power button is easy to find in the daerk.
