Get Stoned
Feels more like a medium grade stone, tapered on both ends, I still need a finishing stone to really hone the curved edge though but this gets me most of the way towards it esp. with old ignored edges that have nicks or burrs.

Bought this to sharpen scythes and bill hooks, grit is pretty course but does a nice job over all. Larger than I expected too.

Easy to use and effective, works well with a thin oil applied (honing oil). I used it on gardening tools.

Pour instruments tranchants à grande lame, en acier non trempé. La section circulaire permet d'éviter les accidents d'affutage dûs à un coup de pierre sur une arête abrasive, et de plus l'encrassement (et éventuellement l'usure) de l'abrasif peut être répartie uniformément en faisant tourner la pierre.
