awesome little instrument
First of all, the thing is just beautiful!!! I got the Koa glossy version. Just gorgeous workmanship. So tiny and adorable!! I am a guitarist, but I've never dealt with an instrument with nylon strings before. I noticed immediately that it takes a bit to tune it. You have to tune it, then re-tune it, then re-tune it, etc..., until it is finally in tune. Once in tune, it gives you that classical Ukelele sound. I suspect that it will take a while before the strings are stretched enough to stay in tune for extended periods. That's fine, because you should always tune your instrument before you play it anyway. I think that is just the way nylon strings are. It is a pure joy to play. Learn a few chords, and just strum away. I highly recommend this little Ukelele. Nice little instrument, and you can't beat the price!!

Great ukulele!
There is something about this uke that makes my heart sing! I was at my friends house and she had several ukuleles. I was playing around with them and picked this one up. It felt amazing, such a good weight. And when I played, it sounded so smooth and sweet. I had to get my own! I did and at first, I didn't think the sound quality was as good. I was afraid it was a fluke. But the more I played it, the better it seemed to sound! I also have a soprano and I really enjoy the sound, but this one has a really nice, bright sound. It's awesome, highly recommended!

So far satisfied with purchase
I wanted a new concert ukulele that had a strap. My current one is for beginners. After I read all the reviews I decided to purchase this concert professional ukulele. Comfortable to hold. Frets smooth. Aquila strings easy on my 74 year old fingers. I like the strap which was easy to install. At times when standing up to play keeps ukulele from sliding around. I like the sound too. I am a member of a ukulele group and we perform out in the community. The only thing I don’t like are the tuning pegs. Can see the gears. Most are covered to make a nicer appearance. But they are easy to use, unlike my beginner ukulele. Overall I am happy with my purchase.

Excellent construction and decent sound. Great value!
This ukulele is a pleasure to look at. Many nice details and features: arched back, strap pins, strong tuners, gig bag. Setup was fine out of the box. Stays in tune. Sound is more than acceptable. May change the strings but no urgency. In sum, fantastic!

Very disappointed this time.
I sell ukuleles on the side as a hobby. I find really nice quality ukes at a discount, set them up properly and sell them locally. I CAN'T SELL THESE!!! This is not the first time I've visited this brand. I've had very good experiences with this brand, until now! I do recommend trying all their other ukuleles, but unfortunately, not this one! I just can't recommend it when I get two bad ones in a row! I previously bought a persimmon (dark brown) and a spalted maple. Those were of excellent quality. I'm sorry to say that on the last two of these that I ordered (Koa/Acacia), the abalone fret markers are of absolute horrible quality! Half of them are muddy and washed out and you can barely see them! The other half are glaring bright! I don't understand why they would assemble them in this fashion. Normally, markers of this poor quality would be discarded! It absolutely ruins the appearance of an otherwise beautifully crafted ukulele! There are also shiny marks on the fretboard by the dull ones like they tried to polish them. You can't! It's the way abalone is. That's why you sort it and discard the bad markers! A few of the markers were not even flush with the surface. They were raised. The people assembling the fretboards must be locked in a dark closet, completely blind or just utterly incompetent! Have they no final inspection process? There's an inspection sticker. Maybe the inspector is blind. It just doesn't make sense at all! To ruin such a beautiful ukulele with sub par fret markers is just a total waste of product. Also, the first one I received had very corse and obvious sanding marks on the fretboard curving in an arc from the center to outside. This was obviously done before the fret wire was installed! As a result, I've lost faith in the manufacturing quality of this particular ukulele, not the entire line, at least for now. I'll try again at some point in the future. I'm sure that eventually, they'll get rid of the bafoon who is responsible for this travesty! This bad experience aside, I do recommend their ukuleles which do not include the abalone fret markers.

Picture doesn't do justice.
This ukulele is just beautiful, I love it! Sounds great to me and easy to play. There is nothing that I don't like about it. Get it, you'll love it!

Delightful!
I was most worried about the quality of the strings, but now that they’ve settled, I think the only minor adjustments I’ll make are to the nut and bridge. Acoustics are wonderful, everything feels nice.

Not a solid top and poor workmanship
EDIT: After using the ukulele for a while and repairing the stripped screw hole I decided to give this ukulele more stars. I was initially very upset concerning the lie about the solid top when it is actually laminate, but it is such a pretty instrument and it plays so well that I calmed down and decided to keep it. Laminate wood is much more resistant to damage from humidity and heat anyway and the price was reasonable even if it is laminate instead of solid. I am enjoying playing it very much. I will start with what I liked about this solid top (not) Koa (Acacia) Ukulele. It is very pretty and holds it's tune well after string break in. The sound is OK and the neck was nice with no sharp frets etc. The action was very good right out of the box. What I did not like: The top is laminate and not solid as advertised. The finish around the sound hole and a few other places around the ukulele is very poorly done. The screw for the neck strap button was overtightened at the factory and stripped out needing repair. The outer box supplied by Amazon was perfect on arrival but the actual box the ukulele was in was very damaged and even had one end missing. As the end was not even in the box it is evident that it was packed that way.
