I should have noticed before purchasing that these tuners require 8mm holes in the headstock. The Fender-licensed neck I wanted to install them in has 10mm holes. Retrofitting the Stealth tuners will require plugging the existing holes and re-drilling 8mm holes. Definitely a more advanced project than the average player would want to tackle on their own. But the things are light as a feather, obviously well made and will look really nice on a guitar. Just be prepared for a complicated installation, or seek help from your local luthier.Note: There are conversion bushings available to make 8mm tuners fit a 10mm hole. However, they drop into the holes from the top side and there is a lot of open space underneath. In this case I don't think the conversion bushings provide solid centering for the tuner shafts, and the 10mm holes don't leave much wood for the mounting screws to go into. For such expensive and attractive tuners, the last thing I want is a sketchy installation that works loose after I sell the guitar. I'll install them the hard way or save them for a scratch-built neck where I choose the hole size.
