Must have!
This lid is a must have for any painting project. I’ve been painting the exterior of my house. It takes several weeks. The lid seals pretty well and takes away the step of opening & hammering shut the metal lid when I need paint. Highly recommend!

Does NOT work on ALL quart paint cans....
Paint can pour lids are (generally) the greatest thing ever. I use a Shur-Line 1 gallon size pour lid all the time. Recently, I have been using quart cans of paint so I decided, based on my experience to purchase a Shur-Line quart sized lid. The lid DOES NOT fit Behr quart containers!!!!! After cleaning up my big mess after a first attempt to fit it to a Behr quart can, I did try it on Rustoleum can and it fit....so, beware - this product does NOT fit all quart cans

One of the best painting gadgets you can get
These Shur-Line "store and pour" lids are fantastic. I have over a dozen of the gallon size and at least a half dozen of the quart size. They make pouring absolutely neat, no matter how little you want to pour out. Then you just close the lid and the vent. No tools needed. The paint stays fresh. I have had quarts survive for two years with one of these lids on the can.The lid can be a little tough to press on. I use the heel of my hand plus body weight to get that done. Once it's on, it will STAY on until you decide to take it off. They are completely reusable. When moving a lid from one can to the next, either rinse well with water, or let the paint dry so you can easily peel it off. Piece of cake. There is a warning molded into the lid that these are ONLY for water-based paints such as latex. These lids cannot be used for oil-base paints. It will ruin the lid. It's not obvious when you see the spout sticking up but you can actually stack cans with these lids on. The spout folds back on itself. The the top is flat enough to permit stacking. One small tip: When closing the spout a little paint may splatter. Cupping your hand over the spout as you close it is enough to contain any splatter. There are a zillion gadgets to make your painting better. This one really works. I love it.

Great for pouring varnish
The varnish I use on our boat’s brightwork dries very quickly so this is a must-have.

They shrink if stored in your garage.
I am not sure if this is normal but they shrunk after being in my garage. I use them the first time and they were great, fit perfectly over the can. Washed them up and stored them in a cabinet in my garage for the next paint project. I took them out to use when I paint and they were to small to go over the can. I was sad because when they fit over the can they work well. The idea is great and they keep the rim of the paint can pretty clean but now I can't use them. If I ever buy more I will store them in the house. I think the heat from the garage made them shrink, that is the only thing I can think of that could have caused them to shrink.

Pretty easily tears, but well worth it if you take care of it
This was extremely helpful to prevent creating a mess with quart paint cans, but the lid is very fragile and can easily tear. Just take great care with this item and it'll pay off.

Best Solution To Paint Waste I've Ever Come Across
This is exactly what I was looking for. I frequently use POR-15 to paint small sections of bare metal on car parts. I typically buy quart-size cans, and each can lasts a long time, on the order of months. But opening the can, pouring some paint out into a small jar, then closing the can again becomes tedious, messy and wasteful. After a couples times, the lid becomes nearly impossible to remove anymore. And pouring accurately straight from the can is an exercise in frustration. This lid has solved all of these issues.Pouring exactly the amount I need has become extremely easy, cleanup is a breeze, and so far none of the paint in the can has dried up after over a month. It's not perfect. The cap on the pouring lid broke off the very first time I used it, so I have to be careful not to misplace it when I pour (it's tiny). Same with the cap for the vent. And I'm not sure how salvageable this lid will be when it's time to move it to another can. POR-15 isn't latex paint, and cleaning it off might be nearly impossible. But considering the price of this lid, I can easily afford to buy more. It's already paid for itself in waste reduction.
