Before you complain that your essential oil doesn’t smell to your liking, look to your ratio of Benzyl alcohol. Don’t heat past 400 degrees and your essential oil will do better since the Benzyl alcohol won’t evaporate. Please buy a thermometer and assume it has a 10-20% margin of error. Otherwise your perfume (lavender, citron, bergamot, etc.) will smell too heavily of Benzyl alcohol, wasting the scent and the life the plant gave to provide that scent.
