Not your average earbuds
These headphones are really great. I've gone through dozens of $15-20 skullcandy or other cheap generic earbuds, and the wires will break or one of the earbuds will stop working, or I'll lose one of the rubber ear pieces within a month. These APIE headphones are amazing. I've been using mine for over a year and a half, using them constantly for about 6-8 hours a day, and both of the earbuds still work! It is true that I have misplaced a few of the rubber ear pieces, but these headphones come with a handful of replacements so I just replace lost ones with no issue. The sound quality is great, decent bass, and I don't usually have to turn up the volume super loud to hear anything. These have pretty good noise cancellation. I have been snuck up on (accidentally) by a number of my coworkers, because I can't hear them coming up to me while I'm jamming out. These headphones also look really nice despite being so affordable. I cannot recommend this product enough.

Nitpicking?
Incredible sound, amazing bass response, even at the lowest volume levels. I have a very eclectic collection, classical to metal to rap to house music, and it all sounds fantastic. I fiddled around with the EQ for a while but found things sound great even with it shut off, although I opted for a flat setting. These earbuds came nicely packaged and protected, with plenty of extra ear pieces for fitting/replacement, as well as both a soft and "hard" pouch to carry them. The cord does have a slight rubbery feel, but not bad. The color choices are a problem on this one, so be careful here. I ordered what I thought was the silvery color, and ended up with a dark brown that hides the wood grain almost completely. Unfortunate because under bright lights it's clear that the wood is quite nice looking.Pros: excellent sound, plenty of extra goodies, nice looking wood grain construction, very affordable qualityCons: mixed color choices/too dark brown, no volume controls, slight rubbery feel to the cord

What happened to the amazing bass response!?!
They don't make them like they used to. I bought a pair of these over a year ago and they were the best $100 headphones I've ever owned (but I paid $20 for them). They lied when they called them "noise-cancelling" BUT, for $20, the quality was definitely worth it. THE BASS RESPONSE WAS AMAZING!!!! About a year later the things fell apart so I crazy glued them back together and voila! They were up and running as good as new. Recently I bought some for my wife. When I received them they were packaged differently and finished differently. For example, they had a button to pick up and hang up now whereas the previous ones did not. The amazing bass response is. . .eh. . .just ok. When I insert them they pop kinda like when you pop your ears to alleviate pressure. They are still comfortable and I would say worth $20, but I'm not impressed with the new pair. (But I still have my old pair!!!)

Dark Brown in discription, grey in picture, and same as brown in product.
Last pair I had ordered was lost before I could use them, so this time I ordered the pair that was grey in the picture. I was totally surprised when they looked exactly the same as the brown pair I had ordered the last time. I think they should change the picture, since when I went back and looked it did say dark brown over a picture of grey headphones. I would have definitely have looked at others that where not brown, only reason I am not returning them is I need them for class tomorrow. Tried them with the computers at school, you have to wiggle the end around to get both sides to work then try not to move. Used with my SmartTab they work fine, but with the Nexus 10 you can't plug the charger in or there is a lot of static. Also they are kinda weak on the noise cancellation, I could hear the other students unless I turned them way up. Yes if you like a strong base they deliver nicely. But, if you try using them to listen to Violin Music or try to hear sounds like the squeak of the artists hands as they move across the strings of a guitar, forget it the sound is flat and lifeless. Kinda like having the artist in the next room with the door closed, not a pleasant experience.

Far exceeds your expectations
First, I gave this fours stars because I hesitate to give anything five stars until I've used it for a while. However, I really wanted to give this five stars right away for three reasons.1. The Price. It's $19.99. You don't really have to hem and haw over it.2. The package. You get two different cases with 6 sets of ear plugs to fit almost any ear shape. They initially feel durable I'll provide an update. The cases are nice, with a hook and loop strap to hold the cord together in the hard case and it sticks to the inside of the case so they don't fall out when you open it.3. The sound quality. Ok, so they are not professional monitors, but for this price point I have never experienced sound this rich. In fact, I've owned two other sets, one of which was made by Bose that neither fit this well or sounded as good. I regret the price I paid for those brands. These are worth it, and then some.

Poor Quality
Unfortunately these will have to be returned. I really was looking forward to these after reading the reviews, but the pair I received were just overall very poor quality. There was no clear plastic sealing the box, which was full of black smudges and fingerprints. (I have to wonder if these were a return from a previous customer??) Opening the box, all the pieces appeared to be there, but the earbud line that contains the microphone cuts in and out if you move even the slightest bit while trying to use them. Was disappointed to find that these are really no better than all the others out there, despite the good reviews.

Pretty good earbuds for the price.
My one quip is that, while they have a lot of built in bass ~ you have to have the equalizer at little to no bass. They hit artifact levels at record speed, especially when listening to Rush ~ the greatest band in the history of galactic space. But the positives far outweigh the negative, the cushioning is so COMFY. I have really sensitive ears, I can almost never wear earbuds for more than an hour at a time ~ but these I could wear all day. The packaging looks great, comes with tons of extra cushions and a pretty sturdy carrying case. I'm going to use the pull string bag to carry my Magic the Gathering life stones.
