Yes 5050 is good for oily hair. It cleanses hair and also protection by hydrating at the same time.

Q: Is it easy to take lids off the 8.5 oz bottles to refill? I see this brand sells gallon sizes for refilling.

With the correct funnel and some time it can be easy. Our larger 24 oz with pump top are also easily refilled.
