Rarely write reviews, but this one deserves it. I am a Definitive fan and customer and know reputation by my ownership for a decade. Have had multiple center channel speakers but this one tops them all. Produces clear sound across the spectrum which is full, punches with clarity and presence and tremendously improves the entertainment experience. It proves just how important the role of a good center speaker is to the entertainment value. Build and design is top notch as usual. Part of a 7.1 system with an 85" OLED. The size of the sound almost makes me wish I had a larger screen size. Happy with purchase.

I got this speaker when the price was fairly low. Look for price drops/sales. That’s why I gave the mid score on value - MSRP is almost $600 but I wouldn’t spend that on this unit. There are better speakers for that price.However...PRO: Sound quality is FANTASTIC!CON: It’s large for a center channel. Check out the dimensions in the product details against your environment before buying. It is designed to sit on a TV stand or media console, not for wall mounting. You could sit it on a wall shelf but there is no wall-mount bracketry included or available...But, the bulk is worth the quality:With my old Infinity TSS center channel I had trouble hearing voices and soft dialog: when the volume was low, it was hard to hear; when it was loud, it was distorted.The range and clarity of this speaker fixed all of that (along with a re-calibration of my speakers using my Onkyo receiver’s room correction function (Audyssey) and a few personal tweaks).DT speakers are AMAZING for vocal reproduction. Second only to B&W in my opinion. This one is just phenomenal! Very happy with the purchase.

This literally is the best speaker i have ever heard!! After tons of research i decided on this center speaker. the high vocals are pristine clear and the bass radiator feeling of bass to the entire room. i have this unit paired with my 4k UHD Samsung, Onkyo 4K receiver, 1 Paradigm Sub woofer and 4 Yamaha ceiling speakers.My living room is filled with an amazing surround sound that kills any other system I've heard. What pulled all of my system together..... the Definitive Tech cs9040. Its a little pricey, but well worth every penny!

I brought this to replace a cheaper center channel speaker which sounded good but wasn't exactly the same timber as my Def tech 800 and 1000 speakers. Once installed and set up this center channel was crisp clear and gave my system a more balanced soundstage. I'm loving this center channel speaker.

I actually put this center speaker inside of my fire place. The tv is above the fireplace,the def tech speaker is too large to hang from the tv. Great match to the def tech towers. I was playing Spotify, it sounded great through the center speaker, I thought the towers were on but all of the music was coming from only the center speaker

I bought the cs-9040 at a very reasonable price and I'm very glad I did. I used it to replace my Procinema 1000 and it made a big difference in sound quality and clarity. This center channel along with my D 11's makes for a great combo for home theater and two channel music as well.

Purchased for a bedroom for late night music and did not disappoint.
