Alpha JX2 a solid choice for a bidet
Bought this to replace a brondell swash 1000 that quite working after a couple years. The brondell was the second of 2 I have had in this bathroom. I have 2 other brondell's (different model) in other 2 bathrooms. I have liked the way the brondell 1000 works but it seems the swash 1000 instantly stops working after a while--water starts a trickle then nothing. The last one I took apart and tried to fix but to no avail. The 1000 is expensive and works well till it breaks and frankly it should last much longer at its price point. So, that led to the change of brand. This Alpha JX2 was easy to install since I've installed multiple seats at this stage. Very straight forward install. The bracket that installs on the toilet before you slide the actual seat on is a little less robust than the Brondell and it doesn't have release buttons like the Brondell, but it was not an issue. I may have to loosen the plastic bolts securing that bracket when it makes sense to clean around the back and under the mount, but that is a minor thing to do. The Alpha works very well--certainly as well as the Brondel. The build quality, fit, finish, appearance and remote are all every bit as nice as the Brondell. The Alpha has a nite lite which is nice as well. The swash 1000 has no nite lite. I have lesser expensive brondells in two other bathrooms and they have nite lites. Really not a must have but the lite on this Alpha is a nice touch. If the other Brondell's break, I'd probably consider both brands unless this Alpha shows better long term reliability BUT I would not buy the Brondell at a much higher price point. Finally---I have well water with a very good softner and charcoal filter but I am at least aware that well water might affect these things and could have been the Brondell's undoing. Even so, I could replace the Alpha again if it fails and still be under the price of the Swash 1000.

I couldn't just let my wife get all the enjoyment. First the pros
First-time bidet owner here! Did lots of research into purchasing the right bidet, knowing that it is more of an appliance than it is anything else. I actually purchased this item for my wife because she marveled at the bidet she used when we recently went to eat at a sushi restaurant. Seeing the giant grin on her face after that experience, I just had to purchase one for the home. I wanted something that wasn't going to break the bank, but also something that was not a low-quality budget item, because when it comes to bidets, you really get what you pay for. Of course, once it arrived, I couldn't just let my wife get all the enjoyment. First the pros, in no particular order: - I love that the seat warms. Nothing worse than sitting on a cold-ass toilet seat - It really does have never-ending warm water, and you can adjust the temperature setting to your liking - The nozzle is adjustable using the remote, so no need to worry about it not hitting the right spot (so long as you're not sitting too far forward or back on your seat) - The remote is really handy, so that you don't have to fumble around with the seat itself. The remote comes with a holder that can be mounted on the nearest wall or location for easy access. - The water pressure is adjustable and there's definitely enough pressure as required. - The night light is more useful than you think. No need to use the bathroom light at all during the night hours. - Installation was very easy, especially considering there's a step-by-step youtube video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=37GKUNysjGU) - The Easy Wash function makes it... well.... easy to wash-up using a single button press. And now, the cons: There aren't any! But if I were forced to come up with something.... - The drying function is nice, but relatively useless. Still need to use some toilet paper to dab away the water, unless you want to sit for an additional 3 minutes to wait for the heated dry function. I prefer to just dab, and walk. Or occasionally, dab, sit, and let the heated air dry me more completely because, hey, why not slow down and enjoy the function every once in a while since it's there. - If you find that the nozzle position needs to be adjusted, you'll have to adjust it each time you use the seat (or adjust how you sit) because it does not remember where it was last positioned. But adjusting the nozzle is a single easily accessible button press on the remote. Nowhere near a deal breaker, but it's good to know this so as not to be surprised. So there you have it. I can't compare this bidet to other bidets on the market because this is the first one I've ever used and owned. But I am very happy with my purchase. Been using it for a good 3 months now. I should also note that the instructions say that the bidet needs to be connected to a GFCI outlet. Also, you have to plug it in somewhere and most bathrooms do not have an outlet located right behind or near the toilet, so you'll have to consider that. I was going to hire an electrician to install an outlet near my toilet because mine is in a room all by itself with no outlet available. But the cost was going to be a couple hundred more than the bidet itself. No thanks! I simply plugged an extension cord in the nearest outlet and dressed it along the wall and to the toilet. If you want to do something similar, I have pictures to give an idea. The bathroom outlet is already on a GFCI circuit, so I'm covered there. I'm not an electrician, so I'm not advocating that you do the same as I did unless you consult a qualified electrician, but it worked out in my case and saved me a great deal.

Worth the money!
The Alpha JX2 is an excellent bidet seat! I also have a Bio Bidet BB-1000 which does have the strongest spray when set to "Vortex," in my opinion. But that setting is intended for constipation which the BB-1000 handles well. The rear spray on the jx2 is quite strong for cleaning and does the job. The spray feels more like a wide spray than a narrow stream, but it targets where it needs too. I've actually set the intensity one bar below max and usually do two cycles. I follow up with two cycles of the dryer, also set one bar below max, and I'm clean and dry. I also really like the "mist spray," that I use both before and after doing my business and I find that really helps to keep the bowl clean. Seating is comfortable, the night lite works great and the remote is easy to hold and use. All the features of the jx2 work really well and I'm very happy with this purchase!!

The bidets were easy to install and all the features work great 3 months later. With the bidet height being higher than a standard toilet seat it is worth looking into getting a slightly lower toilet is you are doing a new build, or buying a new toilet. I am almost 6 feet tall and my lower legs are straight. For shorter people you might want to buy a slightly lower toilet. Otherwise no complaints at all and this is an American company so chances are you can get parts vs buying from a non-North American company.

I'm 400 lbs with a big booty and I poop alot.. this thing makes going to the bathroom an enjoyment... the quality is outstanding... first the night light is awesome because it's just bright enough that the room is dark but I can see to take a leak..the lid lowers slowly which eliminates noise.. and it has alot of power in the sprayer... the hot water on your bumhole feels really good and it eliminates wiping 5 times... its not rated for ppl 400 lbs but I've used mine 1000 times sense I've had it and it's just like the day I took it out the box over a year ago... must have

Works like a charm & so easy to operate. My husband had it installed in no time at all. We are loving it! Definitely cleans well & saves on toilet paper! Hope it continues to impress over time. Very happy with this purchase.

Alpha bidet is a remarkable and brilliant design to toilet hygiene Replaced the Toto 'Washlet' after eleven years of uninterrupted use However due to age it was without sophistication just a basic unit Admire the remote control for simplicity of imagery Love the Alpha pulsing wash and the fact it pre-starts water upon sitting No issues mounting as I was able to reuse the original hardware Plumbing and electrical were simple exchanges Love the night light as I am active pre-dawn Highly recommend this bidet for simple comfort
