I love Spode Woodland & have some salad & serving dishes to compliment my Lenox cream china. These placemats are genuine, attractive, durable & were cheaper than purchasing on eBay. I’ve other placemats from the Pimpernel brand & they pretty much last forever.

No smell, exactly as advertised, look great in person
I did not experience any "off gassing" smell or anything like that - the placemats arrived quickly and look great. So far they have been easy to clean. I haven't had them long enough to comment on durability.

Nice, durable placemats
Nice durable placemats, exactly as described and expected. Ranking 4 stars and not 5 stars because of the strong odor when I opened the plastic wrap, hoping the odor disappears after a few days.

Beautiful inserted into a wooden tray, on the table, or protecting shelves from heavy dishes.
These are beautiful. Made in Germany. I have a couple of wooden trays that these just fit right into. These have heft and substance, and will definitely protect surfaces from scratches and hot dishes.

I love hard placemats because they look so good and are so easy to clean. I had a different set of Pimpernel ones previously but they got damaged (some tonic water leaked on them and they sat wet for long enough that it damaged the coating) so I was looking for a new set. I almost didn’t buy these because it was unclear if the placemats had 4 different images, or all the same image (I wanted 4 different). They do in fact have four different images, as shown in the photo, and they appear to be good quality and durable. They look really cute on my table!
