It’s been a big help for the 4 cars I’ve needed it for, helps stabilize the engine a lot better than a regular engine hoist. Definitely worth the money, but I would say I wish there were wider ones available for bigger engine bays.

During a timing job on our car, we were able to support most of the work with a jack under the oil pan. But when it came time to remove the oil pan completely, a support was absolutely necessary. This one really came through. It was easy to set up, easy to use, and gave us the confidence to work underneath without worrying about the engine shifting or coming down on us. For a smaller car engine, it’s more than up to the task. Would I trust it with the engine out of a full-size truck? Maybe—with heavier chains. But for compact or mid-size car work, this is an excellent piece of equipment. The only real challenge is figuring out where to store it afterward. Overall, solid build and a worthwhile purchase.

I had to replace my timing belt on a 2005 VW GTI. This engine support worked perfectly! It was sturdy and was able to give me the tools to complete the job. I think it is good value for the money. I highly recommend.

Worked for me when I did the timing chain on my 2010 VW CC- I did not need the chains. It was just barely wide enough- pay attention to the 59" width, I imagine it may not be wide enough for some larger cars.

This item worked as designed and competently hoisted and held the engine while an oil seal on the side of the block adjacent to the engine mount was replaced. It is heavier than it looks but when holding an engine between the two fenders, it does need to be stout.

Do not buy if you are trying to lift BMW 6cyl in a 328 chassis. It won’t lift motor high enough to replace motor mounts. It’s a great product otherwise, just didn’t work for my application
