This is a great solution to providing security to a location that is shared by several people. No keys to manage, easy to reprogram if necessary, and very easy to unlock with just one hand. Only negative comment would be that if using where it is exposed to the weather, I would not lock it during freezing conditions, as it does allow water into the innards, which will freeze and make opening it almost impossible. We have very little of that type of weather so works great. Also, no problem if not directly exposed to the rain.This is definitely my favorite lock.

These locks are great in theory, or if you don’t want to change the combination.The basic problem is that when you set a new combination, you can’t be certain it has been correctly registered until you close the lock. At that point your new combination either works, or it doesn’t - and if it doesn’t you’re stuck with a useless lock that’s good only for the bin.The mechanism is a bit temperamental. About 1 in 10 times that you try to open it with the supplied 4-move code, it doesn’t work. If you enter a new, longer code, the chances of something not quite registering are really quite high. I’ve ordered two locks. For each, I set a new 11-move code for each. In both cases, the lock then wouldn’t open and had to be thrown away. £60 wasted. I appreciate this is because the new code wasn’t correctly set, but I am not daft; I followed the instructions to the letter, practised with the locks a lot beforehand, and set the code extremely carefully. They just aren’t reliable. I suspect this is the main reason they are discontinued. If you do get lucky and manage to set a new code, or are happy to stick with the existing (less secure) 4-move code supplied, then this is probably a great product.
