Gain Another 3.2 Port
If, for some unknown reason, your case doesn't offer a USB "C" connection you can use this convertor to obtain another 3.2 connection internally. Most boards today have this one of this type of socket and one of the 20 pin variety. They still offer multiple standard USB types, that are hardly used any more other than to plug in your keyboard/Mouse or Bluetooth to run the same. I'm sure we would all prefer to have 4-6 "C" 3.2 2x2, or USB 4.0 when it is really available than all those USB 2.0 "A" type ports. This adapter will jump you ahead on your builds.

Worked perfectly for ONE port
This item worked for the purpose I purchased it for, which is to use the USB 3.1 header on the motherboard for a type-A port. Please keep in mind you likely will not be able to get 2 ports out of this device, even if your motherboard has two sets of data pins on the header, as there will be only one port assigned to that header instead of the 2 that a USB 3.0 motherboard header provides. If the device you plug into the USB 3.0 header has two ports, make sure to try both of them before declaring this unit defective. For my purpose it was plugged into a USB header to type-A converter used to operate a USB 3.0 hard drive mounted inside my case. Upon finding the working port on the converter the connection was completely stable, with zero issues.

Only detects 1 USB port.
It works, but if you have more than 1 USB port that you plan on hooking it up to it won't work.

Only one sided
works OK... This will only allow 1 of the two USB's to work. Just like others said in prior reviews. So if that's OK with you, it works.

Works perfectly fine. Only one USB port works.
This works perfectly fine. There is a limitation which is totally expected. That is that only one USB port will work even if you plug in a two port header cable. You are taking a port that is recognized as a single USB C port on the motherboard, a cable isn't going to magically turn it into two ports. You would need a hub for that. Nothing is wrong with the adapter.

Was exactly what I needed to adapt usb connection
Works great for adapting from one type to another

Very cheap
The base cracked when plugging it in. I just put tape around it to hold it in place. The speed is better than USB 2.0 but slower then my other USB 3.

ASUS ROG MAXIMUS XI HERO Overcurrent protection
Upon plugging my front USB 3 into the female adapter and plugging the male part into the boardI get an error saying over current protection error, USB overheating or something along those linesHave now filed a return/refundThe only reason I'm thinking it could have failed is because I had two USB 3 ports to power, and I'm not sure if this cable is enough

Actually works as 10gbps
So I asked the question if this would work at 10gbps answers ranged from rude to unsure. I already had a heap of usb info and and this is quite a unique use case.My plan is to mod my 1 usb 3.0 on my pc into a 3.2 and the 2 usb 2.0 to 3.0 I thought I'd try and it worked out well.Crystal disk mark from a external nvme driveHope this helps anyone else thinking of doing the same

Burned out my internal USB C port! BEWARE!!!
Plugged in to use with a USB 3 front panel, but it did not work and when checked the wire had melted my internal USB C port, breaking both the wire and the port.I would advise anyone looking into purchasing this to beware...
