Yoru Sumino has done an excellent job in writing this story. The feel, the plot, the characters is well done. Definitely recommended!

Amazing.
Warning that currently it says the book has 300 pages for the paperback, it actually has 253, 232 if you exclude the "At Night." preview pages.I really like this author's writing style. While I was not too into "I Want To Eat Your Pancreas." I always liked their writing style in it, and when I read "At Night, I Become a Monster." I fell in love with their work. This review won't have direct spoilers, trying to keep it vague but you might want to stop reading if you want to go in totally blind. I will say, this is my favorite novel out of the two others. I was unsure of what I will rank this novel through reading it, but at the ending page, I was sure this was my favorite.I say this author usually has some plot twists that are kind of less predictable then in this one, but being able to predict that plot point will make you admire the details the author does to hint you towards it, which feels rewarding when you pay attention to details. This book has left me the least depressed out of the others, but it is the most powerful for me. At first, the protagonist of this story was unbearable. Well she is an elementary schooler, and that iffy feeling didn't last long. I kind of cringed a lot because she reminds me of myself. And I gotta say, this is a perfect book for anyone who wants to read something in the "coming-to-age" genre, as a teen myself, this is what I needed, actually, all the author's books are like that, this one I feel the most of. Even if the subjects seem a little dark from reading the synopsis, it really is a beautiful heart-warming story.
