Kärcher 26387920 Sand and Wet Blasting Set, Pressure Washer Accessory, Black

Having watched various videos on-line (specifically cheaper versions), I did wonder how long this would last before nozzle was obliterated by high pressure sand passing through it, but so far, so good. I used kiln-dried sand which is very fine grain and being so dry, didn’t block-up the feeding tube. Be prepared to spend quite a lot of money on kiln sand (which it gobbles up) and also expect a big sandy mess to clean up afterwards. In summary, this does exactly what it claims to do, albeit quite a lot more expensive than other available makes. The question is how long will the nozzle last and are spares available ?

I read all the reviews here and it a very mixed bag but I decided to give it a go anyway. I bought dried kiln sand and set it up to blast a 40 year old aluminum car steering box that I bought off e-bay in poor shape exterior wise. I have the top of the range K archer so I knew I had the pressure. I just came back from cleaning it and the finish is truly amazing and very quick. I am restoring a 40 year old vehicle and have had all of it professionally blasted so far and powder coated. This is as good if not better than the finish they got. I then blasted some really rusty steering parts and they got a brilliant finish. At this price this is amazing value and with the right set up works great.Note one of the bags of dried sand I bought was obviously NOT dried properly and did not work. Swapped it for proper dried bag and it worked instantly.

Over priced for what it is and when using there is no provided way to regulate the flow of sand , although this may be possible if I insert a tapered screw into the sand input end of the pipe .I used this to strip some paint from window shutters made of pine wood using sand blasting sand ..and although it did work it was so slow and not very capeable and after 2hrs i had roughly cleaned 3 of 6ft by 18 inches shutters and used over 200 kilos of sand ...I wouldnt reccomend this product unless you love eating sand (even with full protection ...mask goggles and head screen) and spending hours of your time to do it !This may be ok for small objects though , but it definately needs a regulator .

Unboxed and used 30 minutes after it was delivered. I cannot compare with the cheaper alternatives but I absolutely didn't have the issues of sand suction I could read in the others, quite the opposite actually. Given the reasonable price difference, I decided to go for the original Karcher and haven't been disappointed. But the sand consumption is very high, so plan accordingly. I've used 25kg of sand in 30-45 minutes and will need to buy another 100kg just to finish the job I have at hand.

I find the sand required needs to be very dry.I also find it a very messy to use and a bit slow.Perhaps with practice I may find it easier to use.
