When I first tried to unlock and relock these forceps, unlocking them was quite hard (maybe I'm just really weak). The little zig-zag teeth that are used for interlocking go back a bit far, but I guess if you are using them for clamping thin objects they would work well and still be shut tight.However, when they are not in their "perma-lock" state they work as intended, and are a great tool to have for any household.

I bought these for school, thinking that $8 is a great price for two pairs of hemostats, and they had good reviews. I was wary about the size, but thought they would be worth it. I received both pairs and neither of them lock completely. The tips close, but the rest of the clamp won't come close to touching. When held up to the light, you can see straight through them. I tried to go through the return process, and was told to call the manufacturer when I noted they were defective. The manufacturer doesn't have my money, this amazon store does so why am I calling them? The i changed the reasoning, I was told by amazon they were not eligible for return. Why not just say that outright in the beginning? Very disappointed.
