Defiantly not 5000 GPH. Your first hint is it only fits 1 to 1.5" piping. Any waterfall pump putting out 5,000 GPH would be factory made for 2". The mesh bag is a bit of an afterthought. We put it in a front yard rock waterfall that goes to a small pond. Worked for about 4 days. Then completely dead. Pond was completely cleared out before install so no issues with debris. You'll probably get 2,500 GPH water displacement, but it died so quick I'd stay away from this model.

I purchased a house that came with a frog pond and 7 years in the motor died, there were no serial numbers and no manufacturers' name on it so I had no idea what to buy.I SINCERELY want to thank all the other Amazon reviewers before me! By telling me the height, the depth, and the noise level of this pump, I had a feeling it's the one I needed and thank God it is. It's very small, very quiet, and even gives my 5 foot high frog pond a little bit extra OMPH to push the water a bit stronger than my former motor. I also love that it comes with a mesh bag that you put around the pump to keep all the grime out. For the price and quality I highly recommend this pump.

Works Fine

I prefer sitting out by the pond hearing the waterfall, not the pump.I'll try some adjustments, If it helps I will update this review, otherwise, be aware, it's not silent.(attached video is for the size of the pond. The purchased pump runs the right side of the pond. The new one has the same output as the one in video.)

Good pump
Pump is working perfectly. We did put it inside the mesh bag as instructed but then the mesh became clogged with residue from the pond and then pump couldn't operate properly. We have removed mesh bag until the winter sludge is cleared out of pond. ( from Wisconsin). Husband had no problem with installation. It is a powerful pump.

1250 GPM Pond/Waterfall pump
Compared to the previous 1250 GPM pump I had (different brand), this pump really pushes some water. My small waterfall looks great and makes just the right amount of noise.

It's a great product with wonderful water flow
I have purchased this particular pump before. This last time it lasted almost 10 years without ANY problems. It has a bag around it so every once in a while I have to clean off the bag. That is all I have to do. It's a great product with wonderful water flow. My fish love it and so do I.

Backyard oasis for our feathered friends
Light weight and easy to install. Uses less electricity and the lower flow rate is more bird and critter friendly for bathing and front. We've had many more numbers and variety of birds this year.

Great and powerful little waterfall pump
Great and powerful little waterfall pump. Our fountain is a large 3 tier with a 6ft rise and this does the trick beautifully. Love that it comes with the netting to enclose the pump in to keep trash out.
