The calendula (Pot marigold) is an annual flower native to the northern Mediterranean countries. Its name refers to its tendency to bloom with the calendar, usually once a month or every new moon. The term "marigold" refers to the Virgin Mary, and marigolds are used in Catholic events honoring the Virgin Mary. The Egyptians considered them to have rejuvenating properties. In the Hindu world, the flowers were used to adorn statues of gods in their temples, as well as a colorant in food, fabrics, and cosmetics, and of particular interest, in the 18th and 19th century calendula was used to color cheese.

Super product
I used this product as a part of my skin care during radiation therapy. I was very aggressive with my after skin care since I am very fair skinned. As a result of the use of this produce (and a couple of others), I did not get blisters or have broken skin AND got my full dose of radiation therapy.

Beware -- may cause yeast infection
Beware. Even though marigold (aka calendula) has antifungal properties, this product can cause or exacerbate yeast infections.Marigold (aka calendula) oil should be bitter in taste, not sickeningly sweet. This product is not pure marigold oil, but rather, it is a glycerite, which means the properties of the flower have been extracted using glycerine. Glycerine is a sweet tasting sugar alcohol that is readily metabolized into glucose. Because yeast loves glucose, it is no wonder that feminine products containing glycerine have been implicated in causing vaginal yeast infections. I didn't know this alarming information when I decided to use the oil to cure the thrush infection in my dog's ears. Instead of remedying his infection, however, this product exacerbated it.From now on I will stick to essential oils or or herbal absolutes, which use fat to extract the properties of an herb/flower. Still I can never be assured that any product purchased from this marketplace, which seems to have no standard for quality, will be exactly as it is advertised.

Tasty flower
Easy to use, noticed my hair is doing better, my skin seems to be clearing too. I will give it more time to tell more results. I don't care for the strong taste;but other than that fine.
