Cafe BusteloOrigins Brazil Dark Roast Coffee - 283 Grams

Purchased this as I have been drinking Bustelo for two years now and saw this and thought I'd try it. Unortunately, it was not for me as I found it too strong... and by strong I mean that it left me like a cat high on catnip. I decided to use it for cakes and recipes that called for coffee and it was great for that. I have given this 4 stars because there is nothing wrong with the brand and blend itself. I just personally found it too strong. I perhaps was expecting something more along the lines of Cafe Pilao but it was not really like that. I'm sure others who like their espressos very strong will probably like this coffee.

Using a French press I brewed my first cup of this coffee this morning. I was so pleased. A big, bold, strong flavor with body and multiple flavor notes. Like a supercharged Cafe Bustelo Supreme (available here on Amazon)It's like getting espresso without the horribly overpriced machine. The rich tones of chocolate came through on every sip. Stands up to any creamer or flavored sugary syrup you want to throw at it. The flavor of the top notes is not subtleNot for people used to common grocery store brands. Unless you already know coffee in the US is typically weak and pale. This is like the coffee I enjoyed in Germany and miss.

BETTER THAN THE ORIGINAL BUSTELLO. THIS HAS SMOOTHER FLAVOR WITH THE SAME STRENGTH.

Bustelo is a nostalgic flavor for me, I grew up drinking it. Although it’s not the best coffee, every now and then I buy some for my mokka pot. I saw this version and tried it instead. It is so good, infinitely better than the standard Bustelo. I just wish I could find more as it’s a limited edition.
