Does this product work well in controlling curly hair? I use the super hold but i just wanted to know if this is better when it comes to control.

Does this product work on longer hair

When my hair is short/shortish, I use this product and it's perfect (along with the Grooming Spray--can't stress enough how great the Grooming Spray is). When it's longer, I find the Blind Barber 90 Proof works best for me... And a mix of the two when my hair is in between.

I just opened my new canister. it looks dry and cracked . is this normal? should i add water?

No it is not. Seems like it cold or too hot! I would let it sit for a couple of days
