for wide calf, narrow foot
Good casual boot for active woman with larger calf, narrow foot in moderate snow and above 0 F temps- light duty boot for winter walking, commuting, students, dog walk, after skiPros: wide calf boots! measures 16" around the top not 14" as stated (if thin calf this boot will be huge) lots of room to tuck in pants and thick-top socks Slick nylon upper for snow to slide off toggle to snug boot tight so snow can't get in (gaiter-ish) warm quilted padding is thicker than other Columbia Minx boots super cushy padded removable footbed tab to help pull on wide horizontal seaming in upper of this style means less breakage or H2O leaksCons: the cushy footbed must be suited to your foot; my B width foot is sitting on uppers edges and not into footbed footbed causes pronation (foot/ankle roll to inside) too wide at top to fit under bootcut jeans, snow pants suede scuffs easily Omnigrip outsole has small elevated triangles (look like bio-hazard triangle) that appear hard to clean if mud/clay ? grip on ?snow type-need other reviewer's input Omniheat system keeps feet warm by reflection of heat generated by activity/ metabolism; 200g will not keep feet warm to -32F if standing still large mocassin type seam around toe box+wide top=more casual, less sleek, less suitable for indoor wear e.g. office ??H20 proof and ??durability not for very active (yardwork, shovel snow) or inactive (diabetic, poor circulation, spectator sports, tailgate, birdwatching)I also ordered Columbia Women's Minx Omni-Heat Winter Boot The sole is identical except for color (black on this boot; grey on Slip-On).The toe silhouette is more sleek in the other boot. Both have -32F heat rating tags...seriously?? new reviews are being posted and I see concerns about warmth, waterproof and durability of all boots in the Minx line. The taller lace-up Minx Columbia Minx Mid Omni-Heat Lace Up Winter Boot has a strong following because the fit can be personalized via laces and also snugged down to hold heat in.It also seems to have a full shearling-type lining not present in the Mid height Minx boots like this one

Great boot
This is a wonderful boot, light weight with a flexible sole. It is a narrow boot but works very well for me; would be a problem for someone with a wide foot. Suede is a natural material so it will need to be sealed with a spray boot sealer so it will remain waterproof and dry, there is also suede cleaner that can be used to clean stains if needed. Other reviews give lower marks for this but to me that is what is needed to maintain this type of boot. If you do not want to do the maintenance that then do not get a natural material. We have other boots, Steeger Mukluks that are super warm at -30 and made of moose hide that need this treatment. We seal the boots several times a year and they still look great and remain waterproof after 5 years of use when dog sledding/ other winter activties. I bought these boots to go back and forth to work and they function exactly as I intended. The liner does not come out so I will use the boot dryer to dry the inside as needed. I do not think I would wear these boots ice fishing/dog sledding as I do not think they will be warm enough despite the -32 rating. I will try to remember to repost with an update when it gets that cold here in northern WI.

Nice and warm
Very comfortable, a little snug with REAL HEAVY socks or two pair on. But as they are warm and cozy that's not a big issue for me. With medium or lightweight socks I guess they are pretty true to size. I am used to a bit more of a heel but they are very easy to walk in and the traction is great. To be honest, these were not my first choice but given the weather in the northeast this winter, I had some trouble finding boots I liked in my size and color choice. Even in these my first color preference wasn't available in my size. They look better than in the picture. Seem to be very well made, the stitching is very even and looks sturdy. I am very happy with these boots and would not hesitate to buy this brand again or to deal with this company.

but are perfect with my thicker wool socks
I read a lot about Columbia boots running a bit small and ordered a half size up to be safe. I usually wear a 9 across the board and got a 9.5 in the moccasin. They are just a tiny bit big with regular socks, but are perfect with my thicker wool socks. I think my usual size 9 would be a little too tight. The boots are cute and extremely comfortable. They kept my feet toasty in -20 degrees while I was out (about 30 minutes.) I wish they were just a tiny bit higher at the calf, but they'll work great nonetheless. I really love the quality of all my Columbia gear. It always holds up very nicely.

I really like these boots
I really like these boots. Didn't give 4 stars because i have some concern that the elastic pull that draws the boot closed. As I have just recevied the boots, just not sure how long that will last or how to repair if/when it breaks. The boots seem warm enough to walk the dog in below freezing weather and I feel secure on icy sidewalks (good tread). I hope I have these boots for a long time to come.

Lovely and warm!
I've been looking for winter boots that were both attractive and functional in the snow and ice. I also wanted something without laces because I am often holding a baby while trying to put them on. These shoes are very cute and keep my feet warm in below freezing temps. I wore medium thick socks and they fit fine. Not too tight, not too lose. I think I could wear thicker or thinner socks and the fit would still be fine. I have taken long walks in these and they were still very comfy and lightweight. I have not worn these shoes in wet conditions. The shoe part is made of suede so I don't think I'll try.

Light and comfortable
I love these boots! I live in Bethel, Alaska and I bought these boots because I wanted something lighter to wear on my short walk to work. I have a pair of Sorel to use when I am going to be out longer but they are quite heavy and awkward to wear for a short trip. These boots fit the bill perfectly. They are light and comfortable as well as quite warm enough for my short walk. I can also continue to wear them while at work because they feel like wearing slippers. Plus they are quite cute. They fit as expected, I ordered a half size larger so I can wear heavy socks and that is perfect.
