Fun Project
I bought this for my 9 year old son. It was easy to assemble, and he was able to put it together with limited help from me.I used potting soil and added water in (it’s hard to dig up dirt in January in Pennsylvania!!) so our first few days, there was a good amount of water that drained out the bottom. I thought this might be the case, so had sat it on a towel during this time. After that, though, we haven’t had any issues with water leaking by putting about 2 eye droppers of water in a day.If you’re looking for a “farm” that is going to be full of activity, this probably isn’t for you. It is fun to take pictures and compare the progress, tunnels, and changes from day to day, but most of the time we never actually see the worms moving around. Now for my warning!! When the grass started to grow, I took the lid off so the grass could get taller. My husband even asked - are you sure the worms won’t get out without the lid on? ‘No, of course not,’ was my answer. I was wrong. The next morning there were four worms on our floor. So, lesson learned. KEEP THE LID ON SO THE WORMS DON’T ESCAPE!!!Every few days we take the lid off and trim the grass with scissors, so it doesn’t get all crammed down.

Awesome setup
Awesome set up, very easy to put together… There was a bad review about the cloudy glass; there’s a protective film over all of the sides on both sides so it’s actually crystal clear acrylic… I even included a close-up of direction number one which was to pull that film off of the acrylic pieces🙄 people don’t read!My son had so much fun going in our yard and digging up worms… We put about 20 worms in our farm and a few little Apple pieces at the top, he will be three in September and we’ve already had a great time watching our worms dig around. our trick is to keep it in a dark place and then bring it out when we want to observe because then they are active trying to get away from the light.

Impossible to see worms with clouded class: Bought 2x
We had bought the worms for our classroom however the glass was so clouded the worms cant be seen. Thinking it was just a manufacturing defect we bought it again. However the same issue persisted. Be prepared that any farms bought after janurary 2022 will have clouded glass.

Eh. Still ok for boys who just like gross worms!
This was a gift for my son, who could care less about packaging, but if you were going to gift it, know that it doesn’t come in a pretty box, just separate items in a bag. Also, ours had no instructions which would’ve been nice to set it up properly.

Great item
Purchased for my 7 year old daughter. She loves it and I would highly recommend. It is a really great product and the grass grew in about 5 days and looks great. Two points to note: 1) you need to make sure to peel off the protective layer of plastic that covers the plexiglass frame before you assemble or you will not be able to see all the cool worm activity. The vendor should consider making that fact a bit more explicit in their instructions (underline it or something) 2) the assembled container is naturally is not air tight and will leak out the bottom when you water the grass and worms. We have ours sitting on an old ice cube tray to collect excess water which works well. However, make sure you consider this when you purchase. I would also recommend the manufacturer consider including a tray or something the frame can sit on to catch excess water.

Neat
Works well… sadly I was missing a couple rubber bands that seal the edges.Worms seem to love it and the kids think it’s fun to watch the worms.I was unsuccessful to keep the grass alive. Putting it near the window helps grass, but worms aren’t as happy with the light and chill from window
