I rave about this pillow cooling pad! NO refrigeration needed! Works as soon as your body touches it. I purchased one years back and the gel finally got hard and useless so I was extremely happy to find the replacement. It doesn't show in the photos, but this pad can fold down to 1/3 the width, which comes in very handy for me. I place this on top of my pillowcase. The cooling effect lasts about 10-15 minutes. Since I am a side sleeper I only use half, and then if I need more I rotate it. When not in use I put it either under my pillow or next to me, since it folds up. Yes, it does get warm after that 15 or so minutes of use. But that is because it absorbs the heat from your face, or wherever you use it (sometimes I put it directly on my chest if I am that hot). It cools back down on its own when not in use. Worth every penny and then some to get a good start to my nights sleep. For added comfort, I only buy natural fiber bedding such as linen because of its temperature regulating properties. Hope this review helps.

I’ve had one of these for years and keep it within reach at bedtime. This one I bought for a friend suffering with night sweats. Although this size is meant for a pillow I use it under my upper back when I feel the heat turning up cause it’s easier to handle than the full size model. It does provide temporary instant cooling but then you need to remove it so it maintains its coolness or else your body heat will warm it up making it useless for when the next flash hits. It’s not perfect but along with A/C, ceiling fan, wicking bed clothes and bedding it helps.

This cooling mat (small, pillow-sized) performed as described by the manufacturer. But, cooling lasted only 1 hour. The mat is not comfortable directly on skin; I place a thin towel over the mat before laying on it. For longer cooling, one would need at least two mats to use in rotation. I used the mat in combination with a standard ice pack (wrapped in towel) to keep cool all night. Have only been using this mat for about a week, so its durability is untested. Interesting cooling technology, but ice packs work, too.

This is ok, it it quite cool when you put your face on it but not very comfortable. Doesn't stay cool more than an hour maybe. Next time you wake up it's body temp. More than one needed if using for hot flashes.

First of all, the cooling mat is about half the size of a regular pillow. This means that if you are a side sleeper like myself, you will have to move the mat every single time you turn. The material is really plastic, so even if you refrigerate it before use like I did, after less than two hours the mat will be hot like a heat blanket and you’ll find yourself sweating even more than with your regular pillow. Lastly, the material is anything but soft. Imagine laying your head on a monthly magazine. That’s the feel. Perhaps it could work for pets, but it’s certainly not designed for humans. Total waste of your money.

This product actually works as advertised. It cools for about a half hour to an hour... then needs to be "recharged" by letting it sit somewhere to "reset". This thing is a lifesaver in the summer months... or when dealing with hot flashes!

Keeps you cool for a quick minute. I wouldn’t say two hours as advertised. Not comfortable to use as a pillow as it literally feels like laying on hard plastic. Not a long term solution for hot flashes unfortunately. Not worth the money.

I sleep hot and struggle with insomnia; this is the best solution I have found, and I've tried quite a few. I've been using it now for over a year. The people who say that the gel pad warms up during the night and slides around on the pillow are correct, but both problems are easily solved. Buy two pillow pads AND buy two pillows the same size as the pad, such as the "HappyLuxe Travel Pillow". This gives the pad a lot less room to move around (if you sew, you can also create straps from 1/2"-1" flat elastic band to hold the pillow pad more firmly to the pillow). The key is to swap between pillows when one gets warm, setting aside the other to cool back down. Yes, it's not a cheap solution, but it works well.

En este tiempo de calor se ha vuelto un artículo indispensable para mi esposa ya que la mantiene fresca la mayor parte del tiempo, lo coloca en el refrigerador media hora antes de dormir para que se encuentre fresco durante buena parte de la noche, si llega a calentarse aproximadamente después de un par de horas pero lo retira por un tiempo y si vuelve a sentir calor lo vuelve a colocar sobre su almohada y le permite retomar el sueño. Lo recomiendo ampliamente.

Used to sleep with. Like it because you can take it with you, easier then taking your big pillow. Plus it has a cover for taking with you.

It came promptly and lived up to expectations. It stays cool.
