at last a completely silent HDD, (but now I can hear the CPU fan noise)

I hesitated to spend money on my Dell Inspiron 9300 as it i s9 years old. It ran happily on Windows XP but exasperatingly slow aftre upgrading to Win 8.1. On the other hand, that Dell is a very nice laptop so I finally decided to upgrade the hard disk, and I'm happy I did. It runs as snappy as a recent model and I feel confident I'll get a few more years of service out of it. If like me you have no use for that big terabyte hard disk, it's a highly recommendable upgrade.

Hola, lo he instalado en mi antiguo portátil y va como un rayo. Cargan los programas mucho mas rápido, es totalmente silencioso, se nota hasta en el consumo de batería. Lo recomiendo totalemente, además tiene la ventaja sobre los discos normales que es mucho mas duradero y seguro para tus datos.

Raised my old, slow laptop from the dead & got it back up to speed - along with an Ubuntu Linux install to replace the old & dodgy XP. Just swapped the old hard drive out, ran the installation & it all runs well, even with the tiny amount of memory the ancient thing will support.
