I picked up the Klein Tools K11095 Klein-Kurve wire strippers for wiring jobs around the house and garage. These are designed for 8-18 AWG solid wire and 10-20 AWG stranded wire, which covers pretty much everything I run into for basic electrical work. The build quality is what I expect from Klein – solid, sturdy, and the cutting edges are sharp. The spring-loaded handle is comfortable and makes repeated stripping or cutting fast and easy. The size markings are etched and easy to read, and so far, the cutting and stripping slots have been spot on with each wire size. I’ve used these on 12 AWG solid (2.05 mm diameter) and 16 AWG stranded (1.29 mm diameter) wire, and the strippers handled both smoothly without nicking or damaging the wire. The range of sizes (8-18 AWG solid, 10-20 AWG stranded) is perfect for most residential and automotive wiring. Just keep in mind, Klein makes several different wire stripper models, each with different size ranges, so double check you’re getting the right one for your needs before you buy. I wish I had purchased these a long time ago. I have struggled stripping stranded wires for years. These make the job fast and the exposed stranded wire perfect with no frayed and missing strands. Well worth the money

These are my absolute favorite wire strippers. I use them EVERY DAY at work. Perfect size for any size hands. Effortless strip function and the cutters are nice and sharp. Can’t beat em for the price. I use them more often than my Snap On’s.

Good product

They works much better for cutting and stripping house wiring than general purpose car wiring strippers and crimpers. They do a perfect job on solid wire and as good as can be expected on stranded wire. They cut better and easier than using any dykes cutter. While they also have a crimper, it is useless because it has nowhere near the leverage required to do a good crimp. Use the general purpose car wiring stripper/crimper tool for crimping. These are NOT or the professional, they are for the DIY homeowner to do electrical work. The handles are hard so you would not want to use them repetitively over the long term. They also do not have the insulation for high voltage. If you are doing a remodel on your house wiring, and it will be one and done, then these are perfect.
