Shotblocker is ok, but you are going to get better results with Buzzy
I am a pediatric provider, and have used this "shotblocker" as well as the "buzzy" pain blocker both on myself and on my patients. I underwent IVF and I was required to give myself IM injections of a medication in oil for 10 weeks straight, so I got to try out a lot of different "pain blocking" techniques. This shotblocker did decrease the pain a little bit, but not as much as Buzzy does. I used the shotblocker a few times, and then didn't use it anymore, because I found that it really didn't do that much. My patients also seem to like Buzzy the best as well (it utilizes cold along with vibration to decrease pain). Buzzy is also much cuter (comes decorated as a ladybug or a bee, among other designs). The upside to shotblocker is that is is cheaper than Buzzy, so you can easily give it a try without spending a lot of money.

Secret weapon
Before my pediatrician introduced this into our lives, my daughter would scream bloody murder when getting shots - nothing worked to calm her down, not sugar water, not lollipops, not my iPhone while getting the shot, NOTHING. Then my pediatrician whipped this thing out and, like magic, she didn't shed one tear, NOT ONE. If your kid is afraid of shots, get this - it works wonders!

It works! Kids ask for it now.
My kids ask for this now when they are going to have to get a shot! I tried it myself when I got my last shot and it does make it less painful- you still feel the needle go in but it doesn’t hurt (I guess because the nerves are already getting input from the pressure of the device). Totally worth trying for $5! My 9 year old with SPD told me he never wants another shot without this thing along. Friends have also borrowed it (we alcohol wipe it) and have had success.

and we both thought it'd be nice if the weekly jab in the upper arm would ...
We bought this several months ago, and use it every week when my husband takes his shot of Enbrel. He has been on Enbrel for a decade, and we both thought it'd be nice if the weekly jab in the upper arm would hurt less. He lines up his shot, and I hold the ShotBlocker around the injection site, pressing in, then he does the injection. Ever since we got it, his shots have either been completely painless or he has had very little pain. Our little boys have checkups next week, and there will be shots for both of them. I plan to bring the ShotBlocker along for them.

Product arrived in a ziploc bag with no label
My product arrived in a ziploc bag with no professional label. This is not how it’s pictured on the listing. How can I be assured that the product is new? I don’t feel comfortable using something that may not be new. I have contacted the seller and await a response.

No more painful shots!
I was skeptical, but after the 20th daily shot in the belly I needed SOMETHING to make the shots bearable and decided to try the Shotblocker... it worked! No more painful shots! Where have you been all my life! Since this is washable and reusable we will be using it for my grandkid's shots in the future. ShotBlocker Pain Management by Bionix Health at Home

This thing is a miracle!
My now 7 year old receives nightly injections with a diabetic sized needle tip and prior to buying the shot blocker, it was a battle each night. His doctor tried prescribing us a numbing cream and even when we would remember to put it on 30 min prior, he would still scream bloody murder. There is nothing worse for a mother than having to old her child down against their will because they NEED the medicine. Night time was stressful for everyone. One night last year when my son was 6, I had just about had it. I came online and did some research and found the shot blocker and the buzzy and bought them both and paid for next day shipping. I would have paid 100s that night to make the injections easier for my son. When we got both, I let my son choose which one to try first. He chose the buzzy. He was still very hesitant and still took some time to “be ready”. He reported that if the normal pain was an 8, the buzzy brought it down to a 6. The next night, we tried the shot blocker. This time, he reported it to be between a 3-4! I thought maybe it was a fluke. But the next night, still the same! We’ve been using this for a year and we can now give our son his injection within 2 minutes and no tears. I’m not going to lie and say it never hurts, because occasionally it does. Sometimes the injection site won’t be the best or the medicine doesn’t absorb right away, etc. But it is the difference between 30 minutes of coaxing, pleading, begging and tears to <2 minutes and done. We even bought a second one to have on hand in the event one gets lost. One trick we have learned over time is to hold it lightly against the injection site at first, then right before the injection, press it down a little firmer for the best results.

Neat device, worth the couple bucks to try for yourself!
I am the most skeptical person out there with stuff like this but I was hopeful. Our now 4 mo. Old has had 2 sets of shots and we have used this for both. All the nurses at our office wanted to see it. The first time there was minimal crying, I don't believe I pushed as firmly for her first round of shots as when the second time( my husband pushed it down the second time.) Our baby this time didn't cry during it and after let out like 2 cries and that's all. The trick is definitely super firm even pressure. Pretty good considering she got 3 shots that day! That experience won over my super skeptical husband. I asked the nurse if she thought it helped and she seemed impressed.
