Rookie police officer Jessica Loren (Juliana Harkavy, "The Walking Dead") has been assigned the last shift at a closing police station and must wait for a hazmat crew to collect biomedical evidence. Ordered not to leave the station under any circumstance, Jessica comes to learn that it's more than just an outdated station, its home to the ultimate embodiment of evil and his devoted blood thirsty followers. Jessica is left to fend for herself in the Devil's playground.

This was so bad
I got hooked in by the good reviews but this was so silly, boring and just plain bad. Halfway through the movie you just want to reach your hand into the screen and slap some sense into the lead idiot because she was so incredibly dumb. In fact, she was so stupid that I wondered if this was a horror/comedy. Watch if you must....but you've been warned...it's a snooze fest.

Preposterous plot and screenplay, writing. Overrated plenty!
This movie is inane. NO Police Officer behaves like this, much less a "day one" rookie"! The story is not believable and the screenplay has the female protagonist make decisions that are so outside the realm of reasonableness that it makes this film unwatchable.I did not finish the last ten minutes of the movie because it was so unrealistic in the previous hour and 20 minutes that I couldn't stand it!How did a movie this bad receive such high ratings? I would look at the "insiders" like crew and others associated with the production as the source for fake reviews of excellence or even decency.

Did I watch the same movie?
One of the most frustratingly predictable and pointless horror movies I’ve seen. With a lead that refuses to obey any inclination of common sense and a plot that cheapens and gets more corny and sloppy with each cheap trick. The haunted house manned by kids at my nephew’s grade school was scarier than this stinker.

Argento-like Surreal Horror
While most direct-to-video horror movies are duds, Last Shift is a must for horror fans. It has the same surreal, dreamlike (or nightmare-like) quality of Argento's Suspiria and Inferno--it doesn't necessarily make sense or follow logically, but the images are so stark and unnerving, I was drawn in nonetheless. A rookie police office, the daughter of an officer killed by a Manson-like, murderous cult, spends the night alone (well...see for yourself) in a police station that has officially been closed; the same station where some members of the cult, including the leader, killed themselves some time before. Strange, terrifying events ensue. Never a dull moment. Check it out.

Excellent ghostie movie!!!
Hauntings are my fave kind of horror movie, and this was so much better than the description implies. It’s a haunted police station - which is a twist that I assumed wouldn’t translate well, but I really enjoyed this film. It’s proper scary, with just a little bit of camp to keep from getting TOO scared. It’s definitely worth a watch if you like scary OR gory. It’s got both. But neither to excess.

OK, fairly creepy
It's decently done. But, with a film like this one has to ask: is this what a normal person would do in this scenario? So the whole thing sort of falls apart as far as being a good horror story, because it's not how someone would act IRL. Has some decent "chill/creepy factor" with the sfx, which gives it some redeeming value. It would've made a lot more sense if the backstory included something about the protagonist having severe mental illness or something like that. The way it was presented was really illogical. Still a decent watch.

A haunted police station themed fun house ride...and about as scary.
This film seems more built around a location than a location built around a film. Meaning overall it comes across a bit like the entire idea was created around the sudden availability of an abandoned station as a cheap rental set for a movie. Sort of like the director found this place and said, "Hey let's make a movie here about how it's haunted with one cop on the last shift before closing down. Sound good?" The result is decidedly student film, with some slightly evolved sensibilities. The haunting is courtesy of a rather cheesy stylized version of the Manson family. There's a smattering of intensity in acting here, between extended episodes of low shelf tension building. All this aside, it's certainly not the worst psychological thrill-horror-haunting mashup I've seen. Even if I had the ending pegged by scene two, could see the springs and wires behind all the would be jump scares, it was an ok entertaining ride.

dumb lady cop
Roaming the dark halls of a closed police station and talking on the phone A LOT! Very boring and not scary at all. The storey makes zero sense if you can follow it at all. Good luck with this one if you give it a try. Be prepared to quit half way thru.

... Amazon to drop the price in case I didn't like it as much
Having first seen this on Now TV I waited for Amazon to drop the price in case I didn't like it as much. I have enjoyed watching this horror film and it still scares me, reach for the cushion a few times! I haven't seen a good horror like this in a while and although it is slightly predictable with the familiar storyline it is well acted by the rookie cop Juliana Harkavy who plays the main lead. She is to spend the night at an old police station which is due to close down, and cue strange events that unfold. I sort of wished the ending was better but horror movies have to end somewhere. The creepy scene where the police office who comes to check up on her is very real when he turns round and she sees his head has been blown up by a gun in a previous life. I won't go into too much detail but I forget some of the 'boo' moments and there are a few. I would recommend this one and the other recent film The Taking of Deborah... although it is just called The Taking also scary.

Creepy movie
Good horror movie. It’s a bit slow to start but I found it really creepy. Didn’t see the ending coming for once, unlike most current horror movies.
