Q: Stainless or Carbon? The title says "Carbon" but the description says "Nickel plated stainless." Which is it?

Carbon steel is a marketing word, ALL steel alloys have at least some carbon, without carbon it would be just Iron. Nickel, Chromium and othee metals can be added to the iron & carbon alloy in different percentages to make steel stainless under specific rages of temperatures and rusting environments. So yes Steel could be pleated with nickel so make it stainless, but as it's plated is only on the surface of the metal and applied after the blade has been forged. In this case, be sure that you allways dry the blade before store it.

Q: Does it come "shave ready"?

It comes factory shave ready....Which means it's almost ready to go but not completely shave ready.Don't ask me why but dovo has been doing it this way for a long timeThxFgp

It was honed and stropped . I felt that it needed just a tint bit more . I 'm very satisfied with this razor .
