Vermeer: The Complete Works

This wonderfully oversized book (27cm wide and 37cm high) contains 71 pages. There are 35 full colour plates, one on each double page with an accompanying narrative, and they are wonderful. Vermeer was a fantastic artist. He seems to have concentrated on household scenes that have been dissected many times for their subliminal messages and the detail is exceptional. “The Milkmaid” and “Girl With a Pearl Earring” – two of his most famous pictures - are both in here and the whole book is wonderful addition to my Art Library.

This is a very informative book and the colour reproductions are up to an acceptable standard.

Big enough to investigate the pictures, not so big and heavy that you can't lug it around on a boat.
