Feature-packed and nearly perfect!
I've owned a smaller source bladder for years (I think it's a 1.75 liter) and it's performed flawlessly. I've replaced the hose a couple times, but apart from that my only issue has been with the size. Coupled with a one liter bottle, that one was great for day hikes up to about five or six miles. When my friend invited me to hike to and climb Half Dome in Yosemite, however, I knew I'd need more capacity to complete the 17-plus mile hike. When looking to purchase a 3 liter bladder, admittedly Source was already my preferred brand. I've owned and like Camelbak bladders, but have found the features and level of hygiene of the Source products to be superior. This Tactical WXP bladder is awesome! It's got great capacity but its shape and shallowness front-to-back allows it to fit perfectly in all but my smallest pack. The army green color looks cool and it's transparent enough that I can still see the water level with a quick glance into my pack. The bag can be filled three ways: by connecting the hose to a gravity filter or other source, by unscrewing the wide twist cap on the front or (my preferred method) by sliding the top clip off and unfolding the top of the bag open. This last method also affords a wide opening that makes cleaning the bladder a breeze as even a fairly large hand can reach in with a sponge or towel. There are also cool connectors at both ends of the hose that should make it easy to disconnect and swap out or to change the mouthpiece. My favorite feature of Source bladders is probably the lining on the interior of the bladder. The bladder has what they call a glass-like surface that purportedly resists contaminants like bacteria or other organisms. I can't attest to the validity of that claim apart from stating that I've never seen mold in either of my Source bladders and the water from both has always tasted good--even after sitting for days--and with no plastic taste. The only two negatives I could cite about this bladder are actually features the company touts as benefits. The first is the insulation on the drinking tube. I live in Phoenix so theoretically this would be (and often is) a benefit -- who wouldn't want his cool water to stay that way? Through experience I've found, however, if mold is going to grow in one of these bladders, it's now most likely to grow in the tube (as mentioned above, the plastic in the bladder itself seems to deter growth there). I'd rather risk a few hot sips of water than not be able to see if my drinking hose is nasty. I must point out the hose does look pretty neat, though ... like a real piece of gear as opposed to just a cheap plastic tube. The second negative is a bit more subjective. The mouthpiece is this hard plastic version that can be twisted to lock either opened or closed. You have to twist it to the unlocked position and side it out to drink. It's not difficult but it seems more complicated than simply biting to drink. There's no bite mechanism built in. I like that it can be locked closed but I think I just prefer the now more commonplace, softer bite valves. All in all, I think this is an excellent bladder. Even my negatives may be desirable features to most and for those like me who don't prefer the insulated hose or the different valve, they are easily swapped out with alternatives (I've long ago purchased a 25' length of drinking quality replacement hose from a hardware store so I can easily swap out the tube when necessary ... maybe every couple of years). Honestly, if this pack came with the bite valve, that'd probably be enough to bump it to the the full five star rating.

The Storm Valve mouthpiece broke in less than 24 hours.
Bought this product to use at a 4-day music festival, as well as general outdoors activities hiking, kayaking, biking, skiing, snowshoeing, etc.Pros: I must say that I like the design of the unit as a whole, quick disconnect for both mouthpiece and tube. The sliding part on top was convenient for ice and cleaning for sure, and stayed securely shut all festival. The screw cap was also useful after my Storm Valve mouthpiece broke, because it's easier to drink directly from the screw cap then through the big top opening. The tube itself seems very durable and has a nice "cloth"? or some sort of material covering to prevent UV rays I believe. The nice part about the mouthpiece is that it can be opened and used to pour water out into a bottle for a friend, or cup for my dog, by simply lifting the bladder above the mouthpiece the water-flows freely. The cap is nice but can be frustrating with the short connecting tie complicating getting it back on easily.Cons: The first problem is that the tube is a bit stiff and can be difficult to maneuver if your eyes/mind are elsewhere, this was very minor and after the first couple hours in the sun it loosened up a bit and stayed put on the magnetic clip (purchased separately). Another issue is that you basically have to keep this thing open with your fingers or teeth when drinking from it, as it twists about 90 degrees and then pulls out but doesn't lock into an out position so when you put it in your mouth it goes back to a closed position... VERY FRUSTRATING. So my girlfriend goes to use it and it closes on her twice. She went back for a third try and tried to keep the rubber pull out part out with her teeth and it just snapped off, rendering this product basically useless for the next 3 days of the festival. This was within the first 12 hours of use... Amazon has been very helpful in fixing this situation. A final problem, I have been using the bladder to carry water on long bike rides and just drinking through the screw cap, I either didn't put the cap on right or it was stripped from constantly opening and closing it for drinking, when I set my bag down it tipped forward, when I wen to pick it up, half of the water contents (1.5 L), had spilled all over my book bag (thankfully nothing electronic, or important in there!). I have not had this issue happen again, but I have really tested to see if it was the cap or my error, as the placement of the cap is in a place where water isn't usually for very long and won't be near if you set your pack down right. One final problem for me is that the mouthpiece was a hard plastic and didn't have any of that soft neoprene stuff that feels nice on my teeth.Bottom Line: Bladder and tube quality seem good, but were only used in proper way for less than 1 day before mouthpiece broke. Amazon is fixing this by sending me a new unit and I will have to send them back this whole unit, as they do not replace parts (i.e. the mouthpiece). I will be purchasing a Helix Mouthpiece separately and try that out instead.

Works great for what I need
Works very well. Fit perfectly in a Molle 2 surplus hydration pouch. Only gripe is the drinking valve is a pain. No plastic flavor with it and easy to clean

It Just Works
I used this nearly every day for 6 weeks, and had no issue while hiking for averaging 5 hours a day. It filled fine without any leaks, and was easy to hang out to clean. There was no funny plastic taste and ended up being fine. However, just a quick warning. This tube isn't insulated. So while hiking, I would drink from it. Then after another 10 minutes, I would take a sip and the water that was left within the tube would heat up, and I would have to either sip past the hot water (which is one proper sip) or blow into the tube to push water back into the reservoir.Otherwise it just works!

Color not as advertised
First of all, source bladders are the ONLY bladders that I buy for everything. If I buy a pack and it already comes with a bladder, I toss it and throw in a source. Literally ZERO plastic taste even if you leave the water in it for an extended period of time. The reason for my low review is that it was advertised as "foliage" which would lead one to believe that means green. Well it's very much gray. Not a huge deal to most I'm sure, but I'm kind of picky and wouldve like it to match the pack it was going into as I made sure I ordered the color I thought I needed. Thanks to Amazon's horrible app and inability to send a message to resolve i am leaving this review.

Calidad inmejorable

Source Trinkblase - richtige Wahl

Very confused by the other reviews
This product is trash. Extremely leaky mouth piece and the hose is very weird and slack. It's also a non standard length. Cap is annoying to use and threading gets stuck while trying to close it. The dust cap doesn't stay on. I assume the other reviews are bots or paid.
