Acnedote Oil Control Lotion

I like this product very much. It is a replacement for Neutrogena Rapid Clear daily lotion, which I can’t find any more. I wanted to give this one a try because it seemed closest in formulation to the Rapid Clear. I do like it very much, my skin is clear and smooth and not dry. The scent is a bit unusual — the willow bark extract has a distinct scent but it is not a bad smell, actually I like it quite a lot. It reminds me so very much of the first Clinique moisturizer I used years ago that had the willow bark extract. it was pretty expensive, but this Acnedote product is not expensive. I quite like it and I ordered a second tube so when what I have is gone I’ll have some on hand.

I love this oil contol lotion after using the face wash. I've been using it for years. It keeps my face moisturized, but not oily. I hope they bring it back.

I've been using this for a couple of weeks now and I have to say I'm pretty satisfied with the results. My skin used to be super oily, but over the past few months it has changed more to somewhere between combination and normal. For years I have used 2.5% benzoyl peroxide, but was starting to find it way too drying now that my skin is less oily. After switching to this Alba lotion, right away I noticed the little bumps I get on my forehead going away, and some larger pimples along my jaw and around my nose have dried up faster than usual, and I've had no new major breakouts since I started using it. I can't really speak to how well it controls oil except to say I find it slightly drying, but not as much as benzoyl peroxide. The only cons are that it does sting a little when you put it on, and I think the smell of the essential oils in it is a little strong. The smell does dissipate pretty quickly, so that's just a minor issue. I also want to add that I think some reviewers have implied that this is a moisturizer because it is called a "lotion" but it isn't, it is just a creamy skin treatment. It is a little drying so you should definitely follow up with a moisturizer if you don't want your skin to feel tight and overly dry and flakey.

I use this in the morning as my day lotion and occasionally at night as a spot treatment for trouble acne. It works better than any of the other acne products I've tried. It does not irritate my skin and makes it look more toned. I like how it had less chemicals than other acne lotions on the market. I am not 100% acne free, but this does work. I also noticed that if I use an acne product 24/7, the effectiveness of that product will gradually drop, as though my acne is building an "immunity" to it. This is why I only use this lotion once a day, and sometimes I will use argan oil as a moisturizer instead. It may only be me, but not being overly consistent with the product seems to make it work better. I was also told by a dermatologist that the effectiveness raises if you use one type of acne face wash in the morning (ex. salytic acid) and then a different one at night (such as benzyl peroxide). If you are struggling with acne and nothing helps, you can give this advice a try. However, it may not work if you have sensitive skin. Also, try not to rub your face too much while washing or your acne will become more irritated.

Let me preface by saying I have severe acne and over the counter products typically do not work for me. What I look for in an acne lotion is one that will not add grease to my face, will not make my acne worse, but at the same time still give me the much needed moisture that I need. Prescription medications dry my face out terribly so I need daily moisture. I used Clean and Clear Duo Moisturizer for years but have since wanted to go the natural face route. That led me here! What a great lotion! I love the feel of it, it's very soft and light when you rub it in and absorbs quickly. It has a light almost minty scent that fades quickly for those of us who are sensitive to scents. It dries completely matte and the matteness lasts longer than all other lotions I have tried. Typically after lunch I still need to dab off oil and use my mineral veil again but that's something I can not avoid no matter what product I use.

I didn't know how to rate this, because it didn't work on my face but it worked very well on my chest and bacne. I think it's worth a try. I would have continued using it on my face if it didn't cause my forehead to breakout. For my face it felt like a really great moisturizer and matte primer, but I had the breakout on my forehead. However, I had a acne flare on my chest and it calmed it right down and eventually helped to prevent breakouts. I use this in combination with the sulfur 10 soap. I use the soap on my face and body. For my face I use acnomel adult acne medication as a spot treatment for my cystic hormonal acne. A little goes a long way! Overall, I think it worth a try. I pray you guys find success.

O.M.G!!! this stuff works like magic..I occasionally get breakouts and then I do the one thing I don't recommend anyone doing which is picking at the zit which only makes it worst and create more zits to form. But when I applied this product at night the next day the zit is gone or dramatically shrinked in size I was amazed..to be frank I was not expecting it to work just like when I used to use proactive, but this product actually works..It shrinks your zits in size and continue use treats your acne problem..The only downfall is that I purchased it on Amazon, and couple of days of receiving the product from the mail I come to find out that the whole product line is sold at the Wegman's close to where I live ..would have definitely saved on the shipping & handling fee if I had purchased it at the wegman's store rather than Amazon..but Overall this is a good product that may help with your zits & acne problem is not too hard or drying on your skin like other high end products..this is gentle on your skin yet is really tough on acne..Would definitely be purchasing more..and shipping was fast if god forbid they stop selling it at Wegman's I would definitly purchase again at amazon I love how fast they ship their stuff to their customers .

It has a good feel to it! I was thrown off by the fact the product was so small, but not a lot is needed. My face didn't get oily during the day, which I really liked. The smell is strong but it doesn't bother me. I haven't been using it long enough to see if my acne is reducing yet.
