Amazing
Another beautiful book. It’s a bit different than the others , but still beautifully made. Love being able to see history through her eyes.

A satisfying read
This book in the series of L.M.Montgomery’s journals held a lot of material to understand the unique challenges she faced in this time in history. L.M.M.’s personality is clearly discernible in her journals. She troubles, her sorrows and her joys are faithfully recorded as she experiences them. Sometimes they are delayed in being recorded, other times her feelings and experiences are written down fresh in the moments. Her experiences as a newly married woman, life as a pastors wife, and her experiences of motherhood...all flow from her pen In this journal.I learned about the impact of the First World War on Canadians. L.M.M. Was deeply troubled by the 1WW. She followed the events of the war as news was made available. She seemed to be obsessed with getting news.My regret is these books are so expensive. I will need to take a break before investing further in purchasing L.M.M.’s remaining journals.

wonderful journals, esp about the birth of her children and the war years.
This is the best volume of her journals in my opinion, as she was positive and engaged in life at this time. Her account of motherhood, writing and publishing 'Anne's House of Dreams', and enduring the first world war in a small Canadian town, are especially powerful. Her account of the war fills in and illuminates 'Rilla of Ingleside'.
