Is this machine washable? If not, how to keep it clean & sanitary?

I haven't put mine in the washer, however I don't see why you couldn't. You would need to hang it to dry. Don't put in the dryer. I wash mine by hand and use cleaning wipes in between.

Can the small pouch fit a spray sunscreen?

Yes ! It’s a nice size You will be able to put your sunscreen plus a wallet, small brush, lipgloss and your keys . It’s a great little bag. I have around 3 or 4 great for anything . Hope that help .
