I did and it peeled off! Use Henry Tropi-cool 887HS! The HE587372 is acrylic paint! The Tropi-cool 887HS is silicone paint. Tropicool is thicker and you use a lot less. My 26' RV only needed one gallon of Tropicool. I used two gallons giving the RV roof and One Slide out Extra Protection from the weather. I am in the South were The Humidity and Heat make it hard to keep a RV Cool. Tropi-cool greatly reduced my Roof temperature. Water beads up and quickly runs off like a fresh coat of wax on a vehicle. I wish I would have used the trop-icool first then I would not have wasted a full day taping my whole RV only to remove all the tape and HE587372 by hand and repeat the whole process again the next day with the Tropicool. I could not believe the difference the Tropicool made once it dried. I can actually rest my arm on the roof without getting burned. My slide out roof is much cooler making it more enjoyable to sit at the table or on the couch. Use 1/2 nap roller long stick, paint tray and a high quality brush. Cheap nap and brush will only come apart in the paint as it dries thick very quickly. Once you open the can be prepared to complete the whole job. You will not be disappointed in the outcome and results using Tropi-cool. **Q: I have old aluminum camper roof, half the roof is bare aluminum and half still has paint. What surface prep is there, sanding? Primer?** A: presure wash and paint **Q: Is this good for an aluminum mobile home?** A: It's developed for use on rubber RV roofs and doesn't mention for use on aluminum. **Q: Do you need to mix anything to it** A: The henry roof coating does not require you to mix anything into the paint before you apply it. I wasn't using this to seal it because of leaking but was trying to cool the rv down when it's sunny out. The rv has reached 115 F and the windows have the reflective double shade things in all the front windows and a few of the sides. So i felt a good portion of the heat being generated was coming from thr roof. So i seen this reflects something like 75% weathered. So i decided what will it hurt to seal the roof and relect some heat. The first coat went on thin but wasn't expecting it to be a one and done. The second coat applied thicker after shaking and in the same conditions as the previous day. 90 F ....humid.........and sunny. I applied it looking at the hourly forecast seeing it as a 10% chance maximum for the next 12 hours. Well that ended up a very wrong prediction my local weather woman and the weather channel app. In less than 5 hours of the second coat it poored cats and dogs. Luckily I tarped 80% just before the storm. And the 20% that was uncovered getting all the rain ended up perfectly fine. It was soft but it wasn't tacky or running. I left it for the next day to dry and check the horrifying damage which was day 3. Temp was 89, humid and on and off sun. The coating was dry, beautiful and amazing. So much cooler on the roof. The roof was 111 F with coating and 128 F without. The inside was 103 F instead of the 115 F. So does it reflect heat....... yes.
