Amazing that a little blown diode was the reason my ducati wouldn't start. Replaced it with one of these and back on 2 wheels!!!!

As one person commented, the 1N4148 as a type-O on the label for its rating. Always check the data sheet for the component before using.Otherwise a good value to have on hand for simple projects.

Used to stop backward flow of power from a relay I wanted to tap in my car, flow was about 2 amps and I used the 10Amp “rectifier” diode just to be safe, worked perfectly and there was no perceptible backflow judging by the very sensitive LEDs not turning on at all even with the downstream circuit on full blast.

The diodes was ok but the plastic storage container was damaged.

They labelled a small signal diode, the 1N4148 (which works in the milliamp range) as a 100A rectifier... Don't pay these ignorant fools.
