Best for the Price
My advice is to buy an AC adapter for this elliptical. Buying batteries for this can be a big hassle. Luckily I had an old 9V DC transformer stored in my garage. I hoard all my old adapters for this reason. I don’t use the on board stereo speakers because they are junk. I really don’t mind because I have a Bluetooth ghetto blaster that works great. I have to make sure that I program my workout in the elliptical prior to setting my iPhone or reading material in the slot because it will hide part or all of the screen. An iPhone only covers a small amount of the screen therefore that’s what I use. The workouts are adjustable so you don’t have to exhaust yourself if you don’t want to. I go at my own pace. I noticed that they’ve reduced the price of this elliptical to $347 which is an excellent deal. I paid $389.00 which I considered to be a really good deal. If you are on a budget and don’t want to spend an exorbitant amount of money this is the elliptical to buy. I’ve had no problems with it. (Speakers excluded) If you are not good at putting things together I recommend finding someone to help you put this together. It took me a an hour and a half and I have a plethora of tools. It comes with the hex wrenches you will need but I used my own hex bits and a drill gun to save some time. P.S. I had to use silicone glue to glue the plastic end caps on because they kept popping off every time I brushed against them with my shoe. Not a big problem. It was an easy fix.P.S.S. It would be nice if this elliptical had a built in USB charger. I would pay extra for that.

I assembled it myself! And it runs great!
This is the first big purchase I made on my own, since my husband passed away in January. Let's just say I was nervous about putting it together all by myself. I considered purchasing the assembly service, but it wasn't available in my area. So reading previous reviews and answered questions, especially regarding assembly, I proceeded very carefully. I began about 4 p.m. the day after it arrived. I unboxed it (a feat in itself, since it was very well packaged) and carefully laid the pieces out. I also took out the bolts, screws, etc., section by section and put them individually in a big muffin tin so they wouldn't get mixed up. There was so much hardware, a 12-cup muffin tin wasn't big enough, so I added a few small bowls, lol. Anyway, taking it one step at a time, it really wasn't difficult to do. I did need my 9 year old son to hold a couple of the pieces in place so I could screw them in better, but he was willing. Anyway, we were done assembling by about 8 p.m., and that included time to cook and eat a quick dinner. So I'd say the entire assembly process took about 3-1/2 hours.I did have to call the technical support number once. The wave washers on the handlebars just would not fit. The very helpful lady suggested maybe they had gotten mixed up with the wave washers for the pedals. I took off the pedal, switched the washers, and all was well again. Fortunately for me, the tech support is in Washington State and I'm in Georgia, so when I called around 6:30 p.m., someone was there to answer the phone. Now that it's assembled, I'll say that we really like it. I haven't figured it all out yet, but it works great and runs smoothly. Someone had mentioned that it has "short steps," and that is true. A long-legged person may not like that. I'm personally short, about 5'2", so it works great for me, and my 9 year old too. The only thing I might change about it (so far, with the limited amount I've used it) is the display is not very bright. I haven't used it at night yet, but I don't think it's backlit, so it would be harder to see in a darker room.I have used elliptical machines in gyms, and this is not a gym-quality machine. But for home use, I definitely recommend it.

Good machine for the price!
I have been using this elliptical almost daily for about a month now, and I am happy with it (but at this point, of course, I can't speak to how long it will last). This is a good basic elliptical and I think it was a good value for the price. It feels pretty solid and of decent quality - not as heavy as the commercial ones at the gym, but you don't expect that for an affordable home machine. I am almost 6 feet tall and my husband is about 6'2 and we can both use it without hitting our heads on the 8-foot basement ceiling. The stride feels a little bit short for my height - but I honestly haven't looked into whether this is adjustable or not, and it really doesn't diminish the workout at all.It does make a bit of a whining sound, especially with higher levels of resistance, but I haven't tried WD-40 yet and it's no big deal at all. It uses D batteries for power (there is an AC adapter apparently, which did not come with my package... a little annoying but oh well). The battery power is actually good, though, because you don't have any cords to trip over. After a month of regular use, the batteries seem to be going strong, so my worries about having to change them all the time were unfounded. The lack of cords, along with wheels on the front end, make it pretty easy to move around the room. Would recommend overall!

Very pleased with my purchase!
Only been using for a few weeks... But so far I love it! I put it together by myself (26 year old woman who previously has only assembled IKEA furniture solo, so no, it's not hard to put together! The manual looks daunting at first but it's really a lot of repetition of using the same hardware on different parts of the machine.) Just set a few hours aside to make sure you do a good job. It made kind of a strange noise for a minute when I first ran on it but now is very quiet. Not a ton of preset workouts but I didn't need it. I'm pretty out of shape so cycling between resistance levels 1 and 2 will do for now! I was pleased that you can pedal backward... It targets different muscles or stretches you out, depending on how hard you push yourself. I'd definitely recommend this elliptical. My husband uses it also, sometimes. He is 6 feet tall and didn't have an issue with the stride length. I'm 5'4". I did notice the stride is shorter than some of the equipment at the gym but this hasn't bothered me so far!
