The composition
This painting takes a while, but it looks just like the picture that you get when you get done with it. It’s very rewarding.

Beautiful scenery.
Very difficult to do. Lots of very small numbers .but the outcome is worth the difficulty.

Not for beginners!
I loved the way this came out but it really is not for beginners. It's not hard to do, but very time consuming. There are probably thousands of very tiny areas to fill in and except for the sky and water almost every other area uses multiple colors. The buildings use just about every color, same for the trees and ground. I'm not trying to talk anyone out of buying this, just be aware that it will take a lot of time. I am 64 and have been doing paint by numbers most of my life and this was the most challenging. I did enjoy doing it and it's well worth the effort. A couple areas of concern though. First of all, there is no separate sheet showing the numbers. If you paint over any of the little numbers by mistake you have to guess what they're supposed to be. Really doesn't matter in this case though, if you paint a leaf green instead of red, etc, it's fine. There are so many different shades of each color that if you mix a few up no one would notice. And, they didn't give me enough dark green or black paint. I ran out and had to find some more I had from other paintings. There are a lot of areas that get black and dark green, they should give you 2 pots of each. Other than that it was a fun project and I recommend it if you're up to a bit of a challenge.

Beautiful but challenging
This is my third Paint By The Numbers completed and by far the most challenging. It took easily 60 hours to complete but was well worth it when it was completed - this was painted for my mother who wanted it as a Christmas gift. What needs changing…1. Some of the numbers are IMPOSSIBLE to read - you have to take some creative liberty.2. Some numbers are blurred at printing - add in more creative Liberty when painting.3. Not enough paint for #11, #13, #18 (black, green & brown). They should have added one extra of each as most of the broad strokes required these throughout the painting.4. Some paints are thin so you will need to go through it again.Tips -- Paint over the canvas trim line so when you cut it for framing, it doesn’t have any white appearance.-Work this one by the sections - I did it left to right which kept me sane because when you see the level of detail it’s going to take it will be very intimidating. While it’s easy to do it’s very intimidating to paint but as you can see it’s well worth the final product. Would recommend a working board to help flatten out the canvas since it does come folded (which fixes itself over time when it’s framed).Would recommend but take it slow & in small chunks at a time. A light & reading glasses are a must.

Beautiful but difficult
Most of the paints are good quality but quite a few are thin and see through which means many coats to cover the lines and numbers. It becomes a chore rather than a pleasure. Even using Jesso the numbers shown through. I would have used a "primer" coat of white on top of the Jesso but with so many tiny spots, it was already difficult to read the numbers. I am not sure I'd have attempted this one had I known how many teeny tiny spaces there were. I'm talking the size of a pin head, or a dot. It has taken so very long to complete but the end result is a beautiful painting. I don't always like when the trees are black and I use other browns I have on hand. Before I am finished I may add some additional colors for flowers too. If you are going to purchase, be sure to have some type of magnifier lamp or the type you wear on your head. I would not recommend using the tiny handheld magnifier that is often included with some of these paintings.

Pretty picture
However there are a gazillion spots to paint. I had to stop. Maybe I will start on it again in a month

Very Tedious
This is a very tedious piece and what makes it even more difficult is blank spots and the missing paper that is supposed to help with number positions. All I got was a 3x4 picture.
