Perfect for our RV
When I had to replace the coffeemaker in our motor home I had three requirements. Power consumption must not exceed 1000 Watts, insulated carafe with no hot plate, and the ability to get a serving before brewing was complete. I made a list of six or eight models from Amazon and a couple from manufacturer’s websites. The Krupp’s ET351 came the closest of all after discounting deal breakers like having to preheat water and overall size and or shape.Pro: 1025 Watt consumption, high enough to make my inverter complain a little but not enough to overload it. I can make a pot of coffee on battery power if necessary. The 12 cup capacity is just right for us. The carafe is very well insulated and keeps the coffee hot for three hours plus. The carafe is made of stainless steel so it’s very durable and should have no problem withstanding mobile service. The mouth of the carafe is very large so it’s easy to towel dry after rinsing. The “bold” brewing mode is a happy surprise. It really does make the coffee flavor bold and we like very strong black coffee. Using it probably extends the brewing time a little (I have no desire to test it since the bold coffee is so good) but a full 12 cups only takes 17 minutes and I can fill my 16 oz cup about five minutes after it starts.Con: I tried the reusable filter basket and it allowed fine grains of coffe into the carafe. I just use disposable filters now. They do a good job and I don’t have to wash anything. The display is extremely bright and illuminates the interior of our coach so I don’t plug it in until I’m ready to brew in the morning. I really can’t find anything else to complain about.I am a little concerned about some of the negative reviews. Many of them are laughable but the ones concerning longevity worry me a little. With a two year warranty though I’m willing to take my chances.

Great coffee maker!
The Krups Savoy makes a great pot of coffee! Nothing beats a vacuum/siphon pot or a French press but this has to be one of the best drip coffee makers I've owned and I've owned cheap to high end over the years! My gf isn't crazy about the design but I like the square shape with the stainless steel control panel on the front. My one criticism of the design would be that due to the size of the pot, it's hard to get all of the water into the reservoir without spilling a little bit as it's tough to tip it all the way up to drain it. It's not a deal breaker for me though as I just use a funnel and that solves the problem. Installation of the included filter was easy enough. It has an on board clean feature that is a nice touch on top of the brew selector etc. I do not use the clock or delayed brew so can't comment on those features. I've come to the conclusion that a cone style filter basket is superior to the flat bottom cupcake style basket. It really does make a difference! I get richer coffee with this machine even when brewing a regular strength pot. The pot is large enough to easily fill and clean. It holds 12 cups of coffee and as long as I let hot water sit in it for a little while before making a pot, I will have hot coffee for hours. I mean hot;not warm. Also because this is stainless steel, you don't need to worry about temperature shock causing damage to it, and, it will not shatter if dropped or bumped on something like a glass carrife can. In conclusion, this is a great coffee maker for under $90! Give it a try! If Krups or any other company would like me to review coffee makers or other coffee related items, please get in touch!

Brews a great cup, just keep the user manual close
I brewed 6 cups of water at about 5pm into the thermal carafe. At 5am, it was still hot. I've been impressed with the taste of the coffee compared to my previous Mr. Coffee coffee maker. A few complaints... it's not user friendly, so keep the manual handy for scheduling a brew. Also, the 2-4 cup brewing feature just doesn't seem to work. It brews as much water as you have in. The manual offers virtually no instructions on this feature. You can't silence the 3 loud beeps that happen at the end of brewing. I got this for around $35 in Warehouse deals, otherwise I wouldn't have purchased it at the normal price of $75.Update... 3 months later, just sent mine in for repair. It can't brew more than 6 cups without spilling over. Both the lid and the filter housing were replaced (under warranty) but this did not fix it. The issue began more than a month ago. So with only an estimated 2 months usage, I drop it to 2 stars.Update... About a month later I received what I believe is a newer/refurbished replacement. Nonetheless, it works perfectly. Krups warranted the item and didn't charge me anything for the return/replacement. Not sure why it wasn't replaced with a brand new one (replacement was bubble wrapped, no box, no paperwork). 4 stars.**2 year update - Runs like new. When the clean indicator illuminates, I put the white vinegar and water mix in (17oz each) and press clean. That's it! Run two full cyclyes of water to flush out the vinegar and it's back to making great coffee. I'll never use a glass carafe again and I'm impressed with the Krups brand.Update… 3 years 9 months… The only thing I’m noticing is that the coffee is not as hot as it once was. Bizarre, I know. But I suppose the heating element is just worn down. Not replacing it yet. It’s not to that point. Still looking good, operates smoothly, and has life left in it. Cleaning routine remains the same and about as often as normal (indicates when to clean).5 year update… The heat is diminishing just a bit more, but not significant enough to warrant a replacement just yet unless I see a really great deal. Operationally, this thing has been great and the amount of time between cleaning cycles has been consistent. I would replace it with the same one if needed. If this review was helpful, please select helpful 😁

So far, so good
I've had this coffee maker about a week and it replaces a Cuisinart with a thermal carafe that lasted about 10 years before the water reservoir cracked. This Krups machine has some nice features, including (missing on the Cuisinart), a transparent window so that the water level is visible. The thermal carafe works very well and keeps the coffee at a reasonable drinking temperature for about 4 hours. After that, it is still warm, but not once I add milk. I think the way the lid seals helps retain the heat. Heating the carafe with tap water also helps with the temperature of the coffee. The carafe is a bit heavier than what I had before, but not unreasonably so. I really like the wide mouth, which makes it much easier to clean. Setting the time and starting the brew (I use the 1-4 cups setting mostly) is logical and uncomplicated. I haven't used the timer yet. Right now, I'm impressed and hope that its durability will match its ease of use.

Ease of use
I had an older KRUPPS and it worked for years. This model is easy to use. Once you find the combination of grounds/water that gives you the flavour you'll find that the consistency of each brew is excellent. Metal Carafe is well made and durable and the opening is wide enough for even a Man's hand to get inside to clean any built up residue. Do not clean with harsh cleanser. Some VIM diluted with a bit of water and a synthetic or cotton cloth of will make for easy cleaning. ONE THING thought, the lid can retain residue so after each brew hold down the top access where coffee enters from the brewer and hole it down while you run water through it to remove coffee residue which over time will dry up. Doesn't affect your brew but it's just part of keeping your carafe clean.
