Does this help get rid of a matted hair?

I thought aloe Vera was poisonous to dogs, but I keep seeing it as an ingredient in most sprays. Does anyone know anything about this?

Is the spray oil based or alcohol based?

The first ingredient listed is water. I think the term "waterless" refers to the cleansing action--meaning that you do not have to wet the dog nor use additional water to cleanse the dog's fur of dust, dirt and dander. You spray, massage it in, towel dry and brush the coat when completely dry. For "spot" cleaning, I use a baby wipe saturated with couple of generous sprays to remove the excessive dirt or substance in the animal's fur. Works fairly well in between regular shampoos/groomings.
