Hero Xtra 235 Freestyle Flying Dog Sport Disc - Red

My dog and I started out with the Chuckit Paraflight discs. They are great discs for learning how to catch and track a disc, they fly OK, but we were looking for something that we could use to practice with for upcoming competitions. This disc is perfect! It allows me use trick throws, flys true and predictably, cut through wind, and doesn't hurt my dogs mouth. It did take us a week or so to transition to them from the soft discs, but once we did, it was ON LIKE DONKEY KONG. They do not shatter, but do puncture easily. I have had to teach my dog to use a soft mouth when catching. They are NOT chew toys - a golden retriever stole one from us, and had it in chunks within 20 seconds - bad owner! We play pretty hard, probably 3 hours a day, every day. I bought 8 discs, and after 3 weeks, they are still usable. They have nicks, scrapes and punctures, but with a little sanding, they are still usable.Beats paying almost $20 for the Chuckit discs!

This is a Hero Xtra 235 flying dog disc. It's touted to be extra durable and made for dogs. It is total trash. See the photo. That was literally less than 7 minutes (timed) of playing catch. After one throw my dog bit right through the disc like butter. This was the first time throwing a Hero disc. I've used Hyperflite Jawz in the past and it would take months to get one of their discs to break down and it wouldn't be nearly as bad as this one. This Hero disc is same quality as a dollar store quality recreational disc.
