In getting my house ready to sell, I didn't know what to do about the corroded porchlight. (Curb appeal is important, right?) It had a brass(?) finish which was beyond perking up with polishing. I was afraid I wouldn't get any paint to stick to the metal, but this product did the trick. I followed it with an antique brass metal spray paint. The masking of the glass areas was tricky, and I messed up in some areas, but overall, there's a 100% improvement in the look of the porch. Avoided the expense of an electrician and new fixture. I will use this primer again if I ever need to.

Wear proper organic vapor respirator. Repeat wear respirator. OK that out-of-the-way it goes on like water covers really well. I go through about three paint cans to one etching primer. It cures faster with a heat lamp. Don’t use hot air to dry lacquer-based paint it shrinks with hot air; I’ve had fantastic results with heat lamp, or sunlight..

I used this product to paint the steel rims on my truck. The entire process can be an ordeal, with removing the tire, the cleaning process with degreasing, soap, denatured alcohol, wire brushes, cleaning the buckets & brushes after each rim, laying down the tarp on your driveway/garage, priming, painting, clearcoating & the appropriate drying times inbetween coats...it's a chore for one wheel, if you want to do a good job and get complete coverage. Every wheel has so many nooks & crannies, flat and curved surfaces...taping the valve stems, using tape or playing cards to avoid getting primer/paint/clear on the tires...front side, back side, rim edges... . I guess what I am trying to say is, you will only want to do this once, so take a little extra time and a few extra $ and use SEP (for steel wheels) to ensure that your paint adheres to the metal. I found that one can will cover two wheels. I applied one tack coat and two full coats to both the front and back of each rim. Please, use outside on a calm day or use some sort of mask/respirator.
