Ron Foods Fish Pickles Tiger Prawn Balchao (Pack of 3)

I saw this product online and am so glad I placed an order. The product was delivered in two days very well packaged and with a business card with name/contact number in case of any issues. While I needed a couple of packages replaced - my call was immediately answered, and replacements mailed out within days. Not only does the product taste really great but the customer service was remarkable. Don't hesitate to try out this company and their products!

I ate the Prawn Balchao as soon as I received the packages.The packaging was excellent. However the prawn balchao does not taste like the prawn balchao that we ate in India. It tastes like tomato pickle.Very disappointed with the taste.I still have to taste the Tiger Prawn Balchao and the Bombil Pickle and I will write a review for those separately.

I love this pickle but 2 of them came expired. Two of the pickles- bombil pickle (my favorite) came expired in 2022. It’s currently 2024. Everything else was perfect and excellent quality, I would really appreciate a replacement for my bombil pickles. Thank you.

OVERALL a great experience......PLS let me share the following. I had a slight problem with the product because of an expiration date issue but when I contacted the seller at the number on the enclosed business card, the lady at Ron Foods was TOP SHELF and VERY kind and proceeded to make things right so....I have only good things to share about my experience and the product.

This is a tasty prawn balchao from Goa that tastes like it should. Balchao is made from prawns (and seafood) along with vinegar and spices - this one hits most of the spots except for not being hot enough - therefore the 4 stars. I have eaten this balchao several times and it has always been consistent in it's taste. It can be eaten with bread or rice and goes well with a serving of dhal and vegetables. A little goes a long way and it is meant to be eaten in small portions along with a meal. The prawns are medium sized and are dried prawns - I suppose they keep for a longer time than fresh prawns and are quite tasty. If you want to try Goan balchao (Indian prawn pickle), this is not a bad one to start with. I know I will be ordering more of these shortly.

Found the balchao best of the three, but all were very good.Each of the three had different, very admirably prepared, flavors!Great that these can be stored before opening for a long time, I believe, because of the vinegar in them (a very delicious vinegar I might add). Once opened, I keep in fridge - which lasts long too.Very good on bread, with rice etc.Very happy with my purchase. Many thanks again!

The media could not be loaded. pickle has too much vinegar n sugar. but spice is good. i want refund because i couldn’t eat it . but it says non refundable. i was super excited that i found this perfect pickle but disappointed knowing all fish n prawn taste only vinaigrette.

They taste so sour, it is like you can taste all the preservatives.
