What's not to love about this all-new 55 inch Amazon Fire TV? UNBOXING The whole experience from delivery to commissioning was completely seamless; the packaging is strong and very sturdy, using a lot of bio-degradable materials; the unboxing was a delight, and fixing the (included) wall mount was a piece of cake. AMAZON INTEGRATION Now comes the Amazon Magic! Switch on the TV, and it already knew me, and my Amazon Prime Account. After a brief online security check, all my content and apps automatically appeared on-screen, and setup was done! OPTICAL AUDIO OUT I'm using a JBL soundbar with sub-woofer which are connected to my 55 inch Amazon Fire TV using an optical cable (not supplied), and by simply changing settings on the TV my audio system automatically switches on and off with the TV, and the supplied TV Remote has volume controls for my cinema sound. The sound reproduction is First Class. I can't comment on the built-in TV Speakers, because I haven't used them. PICTURE QUALITY There are lots of presets for the screen, including Natural, Cinema, Gaming, etc., and you can also set a customised screen to your own liking. The picture quality is excellent, every bit as good as my other TV from a famous brand that costs 4X the price of my 55 inch Amazon Fire TV. I'm impressed! HDMI & CONNECTIVITY I'm only using HDMI1 because all my content is streamed and I have been using an Amazon Firestick, and Google Chromecast. The Chromecast is plugged into HDMI1, and the TV automatically switches to it when you want to use it. However, I don't think I'll be using the Chromecast much, because Fire TV is so good, and has an amazing remote control. I'm also using a 2TB External hard drive plugged into the fast USB. Playing movies, even in HD, is a perfect experience with no lag or juddering. Access to the sockets on the wall-mounted TV is OK if you have small arms, and although I'm only using HDMI1, Optical Audio Out and one USB, there is plenty of connectivity for other equipment. JUST ONE THING... This version of FireTV only allows Alexa to speak 2 languages, viz. English (Indian), or Hindi. My Amazon Firestick, Echo Show 8, Echo Show 5, Echo, and Echo Dot all have settings for English UK, Aus, USA, etc, Spanish, French, German, and many other languages. I really would like to use Alexa on my 55 inch Amazon Fire TV in my native language - it makes it easier for Alexa to understand me, and easier for me to understand Alexa. I hope that this will come in a software update. CONCLUSION I think that this 55 inch Amazon Fire TV is amazing, and I would recommend it without hesitation.

Update2: I have attached a vid of the time TV took to start today (5 mins); yesterday took more than 15 mins. Surprisingly Amazon CC is also not able to do anything. Their vendors are not doing anything. It has been going round and round in CC for days; zilch actual progress. Update1: The TV got faulty 2 days after installation. The start screen with logo of AmazonBasics|Fire TV keeps flashing for sometimes 10-15 mins before TV gets on. It did not happen before. Reset didn’t fix it, looks like a hardware problem. The warranty claim slot was after many days and the repair person came for a stroll, assured problem will be forwarded and sometime later I got an SMS that repair is done though it’s not. Will update after the TV is repaired. Have spoken with CC as well. Previous: I wasn’t looking to purchase a TV but I impulse bought it coz of price. The installation is on 10th Jan which is late considering TV was delivered on 1st but I rested the TV on my sofa and tested it for some time. Display quality is really really good for the price. The user experience is excellent. Switching between apps, opening apps, pause play, etc is unbelievable smooth and UI is very responsive. Disney+ Hotstar and Apple TV even play Dolbay Vision 4K which is nice. There is a lot of featured content on the homescreen (mostly prime video related) as expected but I use the Apps+ button instead of the homescreen to jump to my favourite apps (prime video and netflix have dedicated buttons on the remote). Echo dot was able to switch on/off TV. For commands like pause, play you may have to tell Alexa to do it on “Fire TV”. Alexa was able to open a movie inside Netflix as well. Live TV view (there is a button to open this on the remote as well) shows live TV channels available via apps such as SonyLiv, Zee5, Voot, etc on a single screen which is nice and you may configure DTH also (I did not as I cut my DTH ages ago). HDMI ARC is supported on HDMI 1. I have tested it. It’s an excellent deal. It’s tremendous value for money.

Great Value-for-Money product. FireStick remote works like a charm. Interface is butter-smooth and reliable. Remote control after programming works with my AV Receiver flawlessly on IR protocol (beware the TV doesn't have ARC control feature, I am able to do this through remote programming capability of the FireStick on IR platform). It is bit tricky to set this TV though. Settings and Advanced Settings only show up once the content is rolling - this was bit perplexing first and I figured it out after lot of fiddling. Once the setting pane comes, the picture pauses thus doesn't give you the real effects preview of what are you achieving by setting things up. However, even this can be tackled by hitting the play button while the menu is on-screen. Again, content should have been rolling by default while the menu pane comes up - but sadly not. The only option to connect the TV to AVR is through Digital Optical (Toslink) - so you do get DD (5.1) but you miss out on Atmos and High-Res sound (however, I had need for basic 5.1 and thus have no complaints whatsoever). Bracket is very basic and not useful if you need tilt etc. I never used the TV speakers, so I do not know of the TV sound. Build quality is below par, TV is very light weight - again this is what you paid for, so no complaint. As far as the picture quality is concerned, it is atrocious out-of-the-box. With lot of settings and minor tinkering I could get "decent" picture. However, it is nowhere close to perfection. In my other room I have an old 65" Panasonic and is far more colour accurate than this one. Blacks are far away from deep blacks - so the TV should be viewed for casual viewing with ambient light on and not for critical theatrical experience. Sum-Total: I am happy with what I paid for. Better is possible - but then you have to spend more.

Thank you Amazon! Mind Blowing Picture Quality... I am blowen with Picture Quality, UI, and FireTv OS. Initially i had purchased Nokia TV 43Inch FHD FOR 25k 6months back however TV's Panel was faulty and panel started malfunctioning automatically. HENCE i was skeptical to make this same mistake of purchasing Television online. I searched market and visited lots of offline store saw almost every TVs picture quality and their price tag was not less then 40~50k for 50inch Tv. I took a deap breath and played my card with AmazonBasics. My My I accept and happy to tell you all it is worth every penny. When i plugged in and started playing OTT 4k contents and FHD Content i admit i could not believe my eyes. Pros: 1.Super crisp picture Quality 2.Price Tag value to money. 3.Sound quality despite 20watts speakers 4.Deep Colours 5.Super fast lag free and smooth FireTv OS 6.IR Receiver included which we need to purchase for all other brands. CONS: 1. Built Quality Average not bad not great. 2. Stand if table mounted can be Stronger. Not bad though 3. When connected Laptop my gaming laptop was lagging need 16GB ram bare minimum to fully utilize this TVs potential. 4. 8GB internal storage would feel less after sometime. Rest everything is just super perfect Thank you Amazon Just go for it without further thoughts....

Purchased this TV after reading the reviews and understanding the pros & cons. Without getting into deep tech I say that for my needs this TV is more than enough. I had done away with Cable TV long ago and now rely on Amazon prime, Netflix & other premium channels for the selected content I need. I am guessing annual subscription costs will be more or less the same if not lesser. The TV is pretty good. Picture quality is decent. There is some picture lag noticeable enough while watching HD movies online. I have to check with online forums about this. You will need a good high speed internet service to derive all benefits if you are going to be fully streaming online and with no cable. I cannot comment about the audio quality as I have connected the TV to my home theater system. I must say that the main dialogue volume is rather low and needs to be increased pretty high for it to be clear. There is a audio setting for this but it does not seem to have much effect whether set to low, medium or high. May be it's a problem with the Amazon Prime streaming service. I have to still check out Sony and Disney Hotstar but I think this will be the same across these channels. The funny thing is that the trailers come thru with brilliant audio but the main movie does not. I am guessing this could also be due to the Dolby Atmos settings across the TV and the Home Theater, but I have to still work that out. The TV has 3 HDMI inputs, 2 USB, IR input to control other devices, etc. Enough for any normal use. Apps can be downloaded to the TV and each app shows up on the home screen. The TV updates itself after internet connection is setup. The TV setup is very simple and can be done by anyone with basic computer knowledge. It has been 3 days & so far there seems to be no issues with the TV and it is working fine. I have left most of the settings in the default state and it is fine. Since I myself did the unboxing of the TV and installation of the included wall bracket I must ask Amazon to radically improve the installation guide included with the wall bracket. The language is definitely confusing and obviously poorly translated from the Chinese. The diagrams need to be larger, clearer and more descriptive. Please improve this brochure/guide for us DIY people. The remote is wonderfully simply. Voice commands make it really easy to switch or find channels. Since it is Alexa enabled you can use your TV just like you would use the stand alone Alexa unit. Bit of an overkill to use the TV to set alarms and reminders or check the weather but It is provided so might as well use it. On the whole it is a great buy. For this price I don't think there are many TV's of this size and features around, especially of such large brands like Amazon. As to how long it lasts and/or gives problems, only time will tell. I would recommend this TV for sure. I would also suggest that Amazon give options for additional extended warranties beyond the 1 year, even if it is through third parties. That would be nice.

Picture quality is very good depending upon the input selected. I bought a 43 inch which I regretted; I should have bought 55inch TV. Since this is my first A.basics TV I didn't want to risk probably, but there is no way I can exchange to 55 inch without losing the discounts I got during sale, so I dropped the idea. Picture lacked brightness with ""Jack Ryan"" episode on Prime video. Cannot understood why. I would like to call Amazon technician to explain whether any settings are required. However, nature view videos in U tube are excellent. I think 4K content is displayed very well. TV content from Airtel dish I have sometimes looks very reddish or greenish. Sound quality is excellent to outstanding, I like the fidelity at low volume. Probably Dolby Atmos speaker set is required for even better output. Though It is a digital age internet based TV and worth buying, it does not start unless dish input is present. I don't know whether this is a defect or some setting is required. I haven't verified this with Amazon. Hope Amazon will call me to explain about this after reading this review. Price level is very affordable compared to other brands. Since I haven't compared its quality with any other brand TV, I cannot say anything in this regard. Recommend buying but of larger size.

Hello all, I got lured into buying this product because of its great price but I ended up getting a damaged product which the company is not willing to replace. PLEASE READ A DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF WHAT I WENT THROUGH. 11th August 2021- My home was being renovated and was nearing completion which is why I decided to buy a TV. I chose to buy this product because of its great price and built in Fire TV. I was expecting to get my room ready on the 23rd of August hence I scheduled a setup for the same. I still needed the TV early to help with the sizing of the TV unit so I went ahead and ordered it early. 13th August 2021- The TV arrives and is kept packed. 23rd August 2021 Afternoon- My renovation is not complete and the TV is still packed away in the box. The service person arrives in the afternoon for the setup. In order to not send him back without any work, I unboxed the TV and had him set up the stands so he doesn't have to come again. It was also time to take the measurements and I thought would've been easier to measure the TV if it was on the stand. The service person asks me to turn the tv on and sign in to allow him to complete the service request. I set up my account and played a tv show to test. Because it was in the afternoon, I didnt see the white patch on the TV as it wasn't as prominent with brightness. I did not take the tape out of the corners of the TV as the renovation was still pending and I didn't want fingerprints on the sides. 23rd August 2021 Evening- I noticed some lines on the right side of the TV as a patch became prominent in the evening (Picture #2: This picture is of the first day) but I thought it was because of the tapes and decided to ignore it and get back to it when the TV was set up. I packed the TV safely and kept it in another room till the renovation was complete. 14th September 2021- Due to some delays the renovation took time and finally got completed on 14th of September. I finally unboxed the TV again and took the tape out to have it hung on the wall. After hanging it I noticed the white patches still prevalent and prominent (Picture #1). I setup a service request with Amazon. 15th September 2021- I get a call from the service team confirming the appointment and asking for the invoice. I sent it to them. The service person shortly arrives and immediately sees the patch. Without me explaining the issue, he already said that this panel issue was quite prominent with these Amazon Basic TVs and it usually gets very easily replaced in these situations. He said that he just needed to click photos and videos for the report and then Amazon will get back to me on the replacement. I was glad that he was confident about the situation. He recorded the pictures and videos asked me to WhatsApp it to them and he left. 17th September 2021- I called him to get an updated and he didn't pick up. Then I called the service center number from which I got a call on the 15th. The person said he had sent the report to amazon and marked the issues clearly. He said that I should've gotten a verification call for the report and to discuss the "replacement process" I said I didn't get a verification call. He said I will get back to me. He called me back saying he cannot replace the product and that it will get repaired. MY BRAND NEW TV ALREADY had to be repaired. I got furious stating that I received a damaged product then it should be replaced and not repaired. If I paid for a new TV I should get a new one, if I would've wanted a repaired one I could've bought a refurbished TV. He said he will check again and get back to me. He called back after a while and said that they're policy does not replace TV's after 15 days of purchase. I again got furious as I had pictures of the patch prominent right from Day 1 and I can verify the dates of the images I hung up on him as he said he cant do anything. After that I called Amazon 3 times. Each call was between 45 mins to an hour long. On each call they would would just put me on hold for 30 mins and then hung up. After all of this I am left with a damaged TV for which I paid 29,000 Rupees. I dont usually write such big amazon reviews but 29,000 Rupees is a huge amount and if this review saves even one from wasting that money, then I would feel my time typing this was worth it. Buy something you can truly rely on. ONCE AGAIN, DO NOT BUY THIS UNLESS YOU WANT A DEFECTIVE PRODUCT WITH 0 CUSTOMER SERVICE. Stay safe, happy shopping!

A good Value for money TV . Picture : Picture quality is Good with a very natural reproduction of colours. Please do not expect to be blown away by oversaturated colours and high brightness that most Chinese competitors have at this range. This TVs colour is just the right balance and is pleasing to the eyes. I had a FHD TV earlier from LG and the difference is noticeable in 4K content. Even the upscaled FHD content looks good on this TV. Sound : The TV speakers do a fine job in multiple sound formats and I think I do not need my JBL soundbox any more :-) Stereo separation ( Virtual) is good and is based of course on your input source. Installation : If u are a existing Fire Stick customer, setting up the TV is a breeze. Only thing it asks is your Amazon Account password and it can retrieve everything else ( including your wifi password , series es liked, progress etc. ) in under 3 minutes. Ideally, if u plan to keep the TV on a stand, u can install yourself. Only reason to call a installation guy from Amazon is when u want to wall mount it. The Wall mount supplied in the box is a bit flimsy in my opinion and does not tilt more than 20 degrees making it very difficult to reach USB/ HDMI ports which are at the centre of the back of the TV ( NOt sides like it was in my LG). Cutting down one star for that otherwise everything else is just perfect .
