The bag of rocks I received is NOT 3 inch to 5 inch rocks. Most of the rocks were broken, small and odd shaped. The bag contained mostly 1 inch to 2 inch rocks. A friend had opened the bag and washed the rocks (they are for painting) before I looked at them and could see what the description on the plastic bag was. Having purchased two bags of these same rocks from Home Depot, I know what is supposed to come in the bag. This was a complete waste of money and an utter disappointment. Had I seen the bag before it was opened, I would have returned.

the rocks are packed with powder, just rinse them in a little hand soap and water, they dry fairly quickly and then use markers/paint whatever, then mod podge and sealant, they are exactly what I was looking for, great price, smooth and large enough to write a message on, this is great I will continue to order them, yes it's true they aren't all flat, but the chunky ones just make you think more creatively... absolutely fab for kindness rocks, one bag yielded quite a few rocks and with it delivered to my door I didn't have to carry them far. Their white color eliminates the need for primer. I did notice some weren't very smooth, just a little cratery, but it didn't stop me from using them.

Nice, smooth rocks. Sizes are pretty mixed. I will say I did not visualize "30 lbs" being as small a box as it was, for sure. (Amazing just how heavy rocks are!) But there are a lot in there. I haven't counted them, but I'd estimate a couple of dozen or more. As with all rocks, be careful of the dust on them, and these are particularly bad! All our rocks have to be washed, of course, but it's a white dust that gets all over you, so just be careful when you open it. There are several with noticeable imperfections, but overall nice rocks. They paint beautifully.

Here in south Louisiana we are doing this thing were we paint rocks and place them around the community for people to find them spreading positive vibes and hope throughout the community. So I ordered these rocks to paint on them. I am loving them. They are different shapes and sizes and all are pretty smooth so writing and drawing is easy. I washed them beforehand and painted a base coat and it took the paint nicely. I actually went to the hardware store and got small cans of paint and a pack of different color permanent markers. These would be great for teachers that are getting students involved in this project and even the elderly at the nursing homes are joining in. I am having so much fun doing this that I ordered another bag. The first bag I got about 55 and the second bag was 56. It would be a cute idea for a kids birthday party or church project.

This is my second time ordering these rocks. The first box was awesome! Big, flat, smooth rocks that were easy to write and paint on. They were perfect! My second box however is very disappointing! Much smaller and rough texture, nothing even close to the first box! You can see in the picture the drastic difference. I'm giving this a 3 star rating but only because I loved the first box so much.

My purpose for ordering these rocks was to use for painting them with acrylic paint. They have a smooth surface that was perfect for my intentions. Our community has a little group where anyone can paint and leave rocks for someone to find. Then the finder posts their picture, story of where they found the painted rock etc. to the group wall, so that they may to join the fun. The goal is to brighten someone's day one rock at a time and the people young and old alike really love it. People always ask me where I got my rocks to paint. The order of rocks I received where white just like the picture. Some of the rocks seemed bigger than the size stated but I loved those bigger rocks just as much as it gave me a bigger canvas to work with. The only thing I was disappointed with was that the shipping cost was more than the rocks. I understand though because after al,l the box was 30lbs or more. I know, I know I need to go ahead and get Prime... :/ I have included a picture of some of the art rocks I painted.

I got some rocks before and the good out weighted the bad. This time 93% of the bad was broke, pitied or stained. Not very many were flat and most were really big. If this is a one time thing then the company should send me another 3 by 5 inch rain forest rocks free. I will be letting people see this picture and know what I think of the throw away rocks I received. I use these for painting rocks so I'm out the money because these can't be painted and they are so ugly I won't put then in my rock bed. So buyers beware.
