Pfaltzgraff is a company that can be traced back over 200 years to an immigrant family (Pfaltzgraff) living in the Pennsylvania, United States who made and sold pottery. During the industrial revolution the family expanded their pottery business into factories and in 2005 the company became part of Lifetime Brands Inc. I know this because I looked it up on the internet out of curiosity. Pflaltzgraff makes a lot of dinnerware sets to suit different tastes , needs and styles. This one, Madeleine Dinnerware , is a new design. I think the set is well described in the description of the set as being reminiscent of lace patterns. It also recalls a type of hand made “style” with its slightly irregular glaze.I like this set so much become it is both formal and delicate (think lace) but also earthy and robust (think stone wear) . I love eating off of and drinking off White because it doesn’t hide anything, but I also love this dimensional glaze that really enlivens the “white” set. It’s not just another white dish. This set should last a long time of taken care of . The dimensional elements are not hard to clean unlike some I’ve encountered . This set is a great choice if it suits your needs. It does mine. Please excuse what you can see of my hands I’m a 👩‍🎨This set was packed exceptionally well and not annoying.

I just love this dinnerware. I love white dishes with texture rather than color, so these are right up my alley. The white color is creamy and glossy, and the lacy pattern is raised, with just a hint of the pattern's light brown edges showing through the white glaze. This makes these dishes look like they are made of glazed terra cotta (actually they are made of stoneware, which is more durable). The raised design looks like lace, which adds a certain femininity as well as lots of texture and visual interest. Yet overall, they look very clean and classic because they are solid white. The square shape of the plates add interest as well.The white color makes these dishes perfect for mixing and matching with other dishes, and also means you can use them for setting just about any holiday table - simply add festive places mats, napkins and tablecloths and other decor in the colors of that holiday. The white dishes will blend right in and look gorgeous against any colors you choose.These dishes are so far holding up well to daily use and washing in the dishwasher. They microwave nicely with no hot spots in the stoneware. In other words, the food gets hot, not the dishes.Overall these dishes are gorgeous and provide plenty of charm. They somehow manage to look both casual and formal, plain and fancy, and classic and modern, all at the same time. They are just beautiful and I highly recommend them.

This is a beautiful set of stoneware dishes. I've been a fan of Pfazltzgraff for many years and purchased my first set back they were still made in the USA and highly sought after...Those were my 'good' dishes for holidays and special occasions and I added to the set over the years. Now I have many pieces of the imported Pfaltzgraff in several different patterns as well, and even though the brand no longer has that collectible cachet, they are still lovely and well made, although now they get used for everyday family meals. I like to mix and match and this set is a gorgeous addition to my collection. The embossed border has a delicate lacey appearance, but the actual dishes are thick and heavy -- they are very well made and feel as if they will stand up well to regular household use without my having to worry about them being too fragile. Of course, being stoneware, they can be chipped if mishandled and will definitely break if dropped on a hard surface. I really like the elegant, square shape (but no sharp corners) of the dinner and salad plates. The soup bowl is wide, but not too shallow. All of the pieces are generously sized and beautifully finished. They are supposed to be dishwasher safe, but I hand-wash all of my stoneware. At the current price of $85.97 for a sixteen piece set, this stoneware is a little on the expensive side, but I think they are well worth it.

I really like these Pfaltzgraff dishes. I’ve wanted a set of square dishes for a long time. Pfaltzgraff Madeleine stoneware is appropriate for family meals or when company is at the dinner table. I have the Pfaltzgraff Chateau 16-piece set & it’s also textured like lace & I’ve really enjoyed using it. It’s lacy pattern is more textured than this one but the Madeleine set has color, adding depth to the texture. I really like how pretty it is. I think it would be perfectly fine to mix & match the Madeleine & Chateau dishware for family dinners. My breakfast area is country décor & that casual combo works.The dinner & salad plates are square but the bowls are round in this set. I had a set of dishware with square bowls at one time. They were a pain in the neck & not practical to use. The bowls in this set are practical & pretty. They hold 3 cups, a good size for soup or salad. The mugs hold 12 oz. plus room for a couple tablespoons of cream.They may look delicate with their lacy design but they’re built to hold up. Made of stoneware, they have substance. They are dishwasher & microwave safe.I really like this set & am enjoying it a lot.

These are beautiful and unique dishes. Pfaltzgraff makes quality dishware (I should know since I own several of their dish sets). The dishes are heavy duty yet beautiful. I just love the look of these dishes. The square shape is a new one for me and I love the embossed design that reminds me of lace. The plates wash up well and hold up to heat (microwave, dishwasher). These are quality dishes. I am pleased with this set of dishes. They would make a nice gift too. They come well packaged so that every item is undamaged. This is a standard dish set with dinner plate, dessert/salad plate, bowl, and cup. The bowl is a good size. I like it for cereal and soup. The color is not a bright white, it is a warm white. The color makes the embossing stand out. This is a set of dishes that can be used every day or for special occasions. This is a beautiful set of dishes that I can count on to last a long time.
