I've used this on a few pairs of shoes, some that are open mesh fabric and some that are steel toe capped work boots and it works to repel water to a degree, you're not completely sealing the material off with a membrane like with goretex or anything like that.Don't use this on fabrics expecting them to be completely hydrophobic, it isn't a hydrophobic spray, it's a repellent, water will still ingress into the material given enough exposure and time.for the cost, how effective it is, it's acceptable at making my work boots not take on water and it works to help my trainers not make my toes soaking wet when i walk the dogs across some wet fields.

I bought this knowing the product isn’t waterproof because it’s supposedly water repellent…whatever that means!! It’s neither.Cleans your boots nicely!!

Ironically, boots need to be wet to apply.Noticed a big difference on Gortex lined boots that leaked around the laces so I think worth the investment

Easy to use and keeps my walking boots nice and dry.

I bought this to re-waterproof my son's walking boots prior to a DofE expedition. It is a bit messy to use but if you follow the instructions it is fantastic. My son reported to me that although he'd had to walk through a few ankle deep puddles his socks and the inside of the boots stayed bone dry.

Sprays easily and seems to over quite well. Not sure it’s the wonder product I’ve been dreaming of for waterproofness but it depends what you are using it for. If I put it on my walking boots or high end leather trainers, it gives a better reaction to repelling water than if I put it on my cheaper mesh trainers. Looks slightly white if you spray to much on one place so just wipe it with a cloth. I also just left it to study naturally and didn’t have any discolouration on my trainers.
