HighPoint RocketRAID 2740 16-Port PCI-Express 2.0 x16 SAS/SATA RAID Controller

I ordered this item after the HighPoint PCIe2 8X could not be seen by the system. This item could be seen in BIOS both system and RAID. HighPoint was a web feature which should be used to access and set up the RAID. I have worked for four days to get it to function so finally sent a online request to the manufacture on Sunday listing all the problems and what was tried. I received an answer back on Thursday, over four days later, asking the same questions which I had already given them information on.So much for customer service. I have now ordered an Adaptec 6805 from Amazon after talking to tech support from Adaptec. Even though you may save money by going with a lesser known product, I will now go back to the old proven manufactures. The mother board on my system is the Intel DZ68BC with an Intel 2700 processor. Stick with the mame brands and manufactures who stand behind their products.Amazon service on the other hand is nothing but supper. I have never had a problem with them. That is one company who knows what customer service is.

I purchased this with high hopes. The product worked on and off with poor performance for a few weeks. Then all of the sudden it completely stopped, actually causing some data loss. Not that big of a deal since I back up to another hard drive on my system. The company has a complicated and painful return (RMA) process what can take over a month. I am in the process of getting it repaired but I just learned a hard lesson. Buy junk, buy twice. I'm going with the LSI 92XX series. Twice the expense but from what I hear it's a great product. Sorry High-Point, I'm no longer a customer.

This is 3rd HPT controller I've bought after 2 x 2680 and 2 x 2720. Simillar product, works fantastic. I use it with desktop 3TB Seagate DM001s and works fine with Win 8.1. Transfers with 8 disks array exceed 600MB/s. Simple web interface. I know the problem with HPT support, as I asked for BIOS update for 2680 for 4 months (v1.1 worked wrong with 3TB+ disks). They answered they could not see any problem. Then v1.2 BIOS was deployed and the problem have been solved immediately.
