The received product is not as good as the one seen in the pictures. However, it works for what it is meant for and is not flimsy.- The received product does not have the panda logo you see in the product images- The received product is much lower quality than the one in the pictures. A lot of splinters and quite rough surfaces.- Does not feel as sturdy as the ones I have used in the past.- The bamboo color of the actual product is way more green than in the pictures.

Exactly you as described. Would like to get a larger one eventually. It does have a “green earthy” smell at first. I recommended soaking in warm water then sprinkling on some baking soda, give a light scrub, give a good douse with white vinegar, rinse with hot water very well, then soak in the sink filled with cold water for an hour. Rinse with joy water again then drip dry. I turned my over to its lowest setting (170° F). When it came to temp I put the steamer in separated for about 5 minutes then turned the oven off. The steamer had a mostly neutral smell afterwards. I recommend this because it’s exactly what I didn’t do before my first use. I just washed it with soap and hot water. I know steaming fish was partly to blame being the first dish I made in it, which I learned on YouTube the best Waylon steam fish is on a plate because that stank does NOT go away easily. But I’m loving it other than that. Used it twice so far and I got it two days ago. Pop-pop needed the night off so tonight it was Hamburger Helper.

I bought this without knowing I could just go to a local Asian grocery store and buy one for like $10. It seemed to be a great fit but it's starting to warp a little after repeated use which I guess is to be expected but for $30 I would expect something better.

Ordered this steamer, when it first came, the top cover is broken. Have Amazon to replace the item and 2nd shipment came in fine. However, upon first use, one of the bamboo steamer inside is cracked and folded... I guess this is an overall poor quality steamer...

I don’t usually write negative reviews but I’m just so disappointed with this that I had to write about it. I have followed the caring/cleaning direction to the T. After couple times of use, the edge of the bamboo tray starts to warp and the edges are no longer flushed to the edge. I tried contacting the seller and all I received back was they have never received such feedback from other customers. Bottom line, I’m very disappointed in the quality of this product and money was not well spent.
