Heavy Duty - tight/secure connection, long cord, covered/illuminated power button
Bought two - one for each side of my desk. Mounted them on LANMU Power Strip Clamps. Great for a functional working "utility" desk.

Worked good!
Needed a small yet heavy duty power strip with switch for a power supply on the test bench. Ended up drilling a hole on each flange to easily mount. Turned out quite nicely.

This Is One Well Made Tripp Lite Product
It is made of strong materials with heavy metal housing. Outlets are spaced close together to save space which I like. The switch is covered to stop accidental shut off and easily accessible if shut off is needed. The cord is three wire 14 gauge well made with a 15 amp circuit breaker mounted on the metal housing of the power strip. I like all the Tripp Lite products I have purchase though out my life. I have the Tripp Lite plugged into a 20 amp breaker protected outlet. Then I have an extension cord going out to my car powering a Battery Tender charger from the 15 amp breaker Tripp Lite power strip. So the Tripp Lite power strip is between the car and the 20 amp outlet. I do not like having 16 gauge wire extension cord on a 20 amp breaker. The extension cord is now on a 15 amp breaker. I'm not saying this is code, safer this way but I think it is in my mind. I don't like 16 gauge extension cords going out to a car port on a 20 amp breaker almost 80 percent of the time. The circuit does have a GFIC installed too before the Tripp Lite outlet. If you want something tough--get one of these. The outlets are spaced close together though. I have no problem with that at all for what I'm using it for.

Very Heavy Duty
For usage in an industrial panel - very heavy duty and works well.

Better Sound Quality Than Surge Protectors in Same Price Range
This review mostly concerns the sound quality of this 5-outlet power distributor.. When I plugged in my 1991 portable Panasonic CD player, the SL-NP1A, paired with the unfortunately discontinued Audio-Technica ATH-T200 headphones(see my review) into this excellent power strip set on top of two blue Penn racquetballs, the soundstage increased in all 3 dimensions, the unique tonal colors of each individual instrument became more vivid, dynamic contrast became more dramatic, the bass, midrange, & treble were substantially enhanced, & the pace, rhythm, & timing caused me to drum on my computer desk & tap my feet. This was a definite sonic upgrade over my 2007 12-outlet Belkin plastic strip I still use for my PC setup. However, the previously mentioned audio attributes improved even further when I disconnected the Waber outlet strip & instead plugged the CD player into the wall using a simpler & cheaper 3 to 2 prong adapter. The glare & slightly gritty treble disappeared when plugging into the wall outlet & bypassing the power strip, as though a window had just been cleaned with Windex applied with a newspaper.Although I plan to repurpose enthusiastically this Waber strip into my stereo setup with speakers, it's probably helpful to consider this product's proposition that one is exposing his/her audio equipment to possible damage from power surges/spikes to obtain a substantial sound quality boost about midway between typical line noise causing & power current limiting surge protectors & power conditioners such as my plastic Belkin PC strip & Belkin Pure AV conditioner with a constrained sound & the superior sound quality of plugging each audio component directly into the wall. Well-engineered, more expensive power conditioners such as Shunyata, which I've listened to but cannot afford, sound even better than wall outlets though. This power distributor has a built-in circuit breaker, so one's audio equipment is *probably* safer plugged into the Waber than into a wall outlet.Overall, this reliable(owned for about one year), well-built, & heavy power distributor is both a fantastic value & one of the best currently available audiophile bargains 1/5 the price of Pangea's similar 4 outlet base model(two rows by two outlets oriented 45 degrees differently) & less than 1/3 the original retail price of the currently unavailable 10-outlet PS Audio Juice Bar II when 2 Waber 5-outlet distributors are purchased. Interestingly, based on various photos, there seem to be 3 different iterations of this same model, with one rendition having more space between outlets than the one I own. Last but not least, the Waber's metal construction seems safer than the plastic long standard in most outlet strips, & this audiophile greatly appreciates this 5-outlet strip's lack of an external manual switch & lights. I highly recommend this product with the caveat it's a good idea to unplug it after each listening/viewing(have not tested this with video yet) session because of its lack of conventional surge protection.

Worth the higher price
Heavy duty design, switch is covered so it can't be hit accidentally. These are a little more expensive but worth it for critical applications.

Well built, made of actual metal.
These, and the other metal power strips made by Tripp-Lite/SLWaber are the only ones I buy. First, the enclosure is made of metal, which, unlike plastic, does not burn when heated by an electrical overload. The cord and plug furnished with the power strip is robust, heavy, and the plug features nice solid prongs for a secure fit into the wall receptacle. The cord is also nice and long. The outlets on the power strip are individual snap-in receptacles, rather than a chintzy brass strip running the length of the cheaper power strips.Put simply, these types of power strips are all I buy. Most plastic power strips are a fire waiting to happen as far as I'm concerned. These are about as solid and safe as you can get. They may be a premium cost, but they are a premium power strip.

Sturdy and Reliable, How power strips should be made.
This power strip is a tank. Between the heavy cable and the metal construction with it's own breaker, this is an example of how power strips should be made. Those cheap plastic ones from the electronics section "rated for 15A" are a fire hazard waiting to happen. This thing won't function any better no, but here's an example... Your kid finds a power strip to move the space heater closer to wherever and it's on a 20A circuit; a plastic strip would melt and potentially cause a fire, this will either A) pop the internal 15A breaker, or B) melt inside the METAL case, short to safety ground, and trip the circuit's breaker. This stuff happens all the time by accident. My house has zero plastic-housed power strips. Also of note, the mounting tabs are great but should really have a small hole from the factory... Drilling metal on a power strip isn't most people's idea of a good time. Some engineer saved them 2 pennies per unit though!
